Book Review: Sunlight Over Crystal Sands by Holly Martin.

Another sparkling, sunny romance from Holly Martin! I'm very excited to have received a review copy for my day (today) on the blog tour for 'Sunlight Over Crystal Sands.'

 The Blurb.

Love is in the air on the sun kissed sands of the Cornish coast, where the sea sparkles and romance sizzles on golden beaches. This stunning new novel by Holly Martin, bestselling author of Ice Creams at Emerald Cove, is guaranteed to steal your heart this summer.

Lyra Thomas has dreamed of living on Jewel Island ever since she first visited its breathtaking shores. And now her dream has come true – she has her own little cottage and a brand new job. But when Lyra sets out for a bike ride to explore her new home, a mishap has her crash-landing at the feet of the very handsome Nix Sanchez.

A true gentleman, Nix comes to Lyra’s rescue. His face is so familiar and yet they are strangers. But the more they talk, Lyra feels as though she has known Nix forever. What follows is the most magical night of Lyra’s life… until the spell is broken when the next morning she finds Nix has gone.

Feeling foolish Lyra vows to be more careful with her heart from now on. She’ll pretend Nix never existed. But destiny has other ideas and in a perfect twist of fate Lyra will discover that Nix Sanchez is impossible to forget…

My Review.

It was lovely to return to Jewel Island and to still hear from the couples at The Sapphire Bay Hotel, but in a completely new story. Lyra and Nix had quite the first meeting and I mean before they got back to the campsite!! It made me giggle and cover my hands over my face at the same time. Poor Lyra! Nix was a champ though and as Lyra came to find out, a true gentleman.

Nix stayed true to his gentleman title the whole way through the story and I loved him for it. He was easy-going, kind, lovable and he had a boat and a camper van! I really do want to get a camper van and/or stay in one for a little holiday soon. They look like so much fun! I liked that he wanted to make Lyra happy and allow her to let go a little and experience the fun things in life that she was scared of. He was a real sweetheart!

Lyra hadn't had it easy and struggled to let Nix in. I loved that she was close to her family and could completely understand her wanting to be there for her brothers and sisters at all times, she was very selfless in that way. However, I wanted her to break free of her worries over ending up like her Mum and to realise that she could be loved and organised and a little spontaneous all at the same time. I'm glad she had Nix and her family there in the end to help her see that, because she deserved those exciting, joyful moments just as much as her brothers and sisters.

I feel well and truly at home now on Jewel Island. Holly Martin has created a lovely setting that makes me feel like I've escaped for a few days and enjoyed some time on the coast. I feel like I know everyone and love dipping back into what's going on with the locals each time I visit. It makes me happy.

If you're looking for a sweet romance this Summer, I highly recommend 'Sunlight Over Crystal Sands.'

Happy Reading!
