Book Review: The Return Of Her Lost Knight by Melissa Oliver.

Oh how I am so grateful to people like Melissa Oliver for entrusting me with her books and sending me copies, because she is simply wonderful and I feel so incredibly lucky to get to read her work! Another absolute winner!!

The Blurb.

Her second chance

With her lost love….

To avoid a forced marriage, Lady Gwenllian plans to escape to a convent. She couldn’t possibly honour another when her heart still belongs to Ralph de Kinnerton, the man she had to betray to save his life – only to hear of his death shortly after. So how is it possible he’s here at this Knight’s tournament? Now, the pull of their unfinished past forces Gwen to question the choice she’d made for her future…

My Review.

I think I may have said this before, so forgive me if I am repeating myself, but Melissa reminds me very much of Jenni Fletcher in her writing - in the best possible way! Jenni is one of my favourite authors and Melissa has quickly become one of them too. They both have a way of making me feel so relaxed and happy while stuck in the pages of their books!

'The Return Of Her Lost Knight' had me smiling from ear to ear and swooning just as much. I loved the era of the book and now very much want to watch A Knight's Tale! It's simply fascinating to me reading about this time; the castles, the entertainment, how they dealt with problems, the clothes!!! I really enjoy this kind of book, although I haven't read many in this period. I feel like they are my treats every now and again, something a bit different that I can really sink my teeth into!

I was sold on the story right from the start and loved how Ralph and Gwen were reunited. Ralph, I adored. Every bit a powerful man, but with a kind heart and lovely nature. Gwen was sweet and caring. The two of them worked so well together. I was enchanted by their journey and their love.

I also enjoyed Ralph's banter with his friend Thomas. I love it when their is a strong and loyal friendship woven into a book and theirs made me happy. They teased each other, they didn't always agree, but they had each others backs like no other! I'm hoping that Thomas will appear in another book, maybe along with Gwen's friend Brida - ??? Melissa ??? ;)

'The Return Of Her Lost Knight' is a romance worthy of a Knight! This whole series has warmed my heart and fed my soul. I've loved it and highly recommend it! Read my other reviews for 'The Notorious Knights.'

Happy Reading!
