Book Review: Unexpectedly Wed To The Officer by Jenni Fletcher.

Jenni Fletcher is one of my favourites. I love her writing style and I love her stories. 'Unexpectedly Wed To The Officer,' was a perfect read to curl up with this past holiday! Thank you Jenni, as always for sending me a copy!!

The Blurb.

From shopkeeper…

To officer’s wife

With a scandal in her past, shopkeeper Henrietta Gardiner has become wary of men, including her friend’s brother, dashing officer Sebastian Fortini. When Henrietta is called upon to take in her three young nephews, Sebastian is on hand to help her, even offering a convenient marriage as a solution! Henrietta starts to realise her new husband’s carefree exterior hides a more intriguing interior…but where will that leave their hasty marriage?

My Review.

I enjoy a good series and get so excited when my favourite authors have them. I look forward to revisiting places and saying hi to lovable characters again. After reading 'An Unconventional Countess,' last January, I couldn't wait to go back to Belle's biscuit shop and see how the other characters were doing and what else was happening in Bath.

'Unexpectedly Wed To The Officer,' definitely gave me those comforting, visiting old friends vibes from the moment I started reading it. I loved having the book in my hands and curling up by the tree to read it. The characters, the familiar setting, the family ties, they all made for a wonderful, easy going read, that flowed effortlessly from page to page.

Henrietta was lovely and someone that I could get behind without question. The way she cared for her brother and nephews was second to none and I admired her very much for that. She was just so caring and sweet. She was also feisty and could hold her own with the help of fellow shop assistant Nancy. The two of them made quite the formidable team, as Sebastian found out upon his return to Bath.

Sebastian was a dashing gentleman and I loved him from the moment he stepped foot in Belles. He added warmth and humour to the story, which made me look forward to his meetings with Henrietta. The two together made me laugh and smile and I completely fell in love with their journey together. The way they cared, looked out for each other and grew together gave me all the feels and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you are looking for a genuinely lovely read, that is simply comforting and warm then I highly recommend reading 'Unexpectedly Wed To The Officer.' I for one cannot wait for the next Regency Belles of Bath book!

Happy Reading!
Love,
