Book Review: Stuck On You by Portia MacIntosh.

This new book from Portia MacIntosh snuck up on me, but I loved the sound of it and since I've read all of her other books, I had to grab a copy!

The Blurb.

Could a post-it note really lead to love...?

Sadie doesn't have time for finding love. She's too busy as PA for famous artist Damian Banks. When she's not arranging exhibitions, she's organising his dry cleaning or dumping his never-ending stream of girlfriends.

But when she strikes up an unusual friendship with her desk share buddy, she finds a confidante and a new potential love interest. Problem is, they've never actually met...

With Christmas just around the corner, can Sadie put herself first for a change and find what she's been looking for all along?

My Review.

We can well and truly start getting festive now can't we? I mean I know it might be a tad bit earlier than usual, but Christmas food is already in the shops and lets just face it, it's fun getting all cosy and giddy about the holiday season isn't it? Especially when there are so many wonderful festive books to read that you don't know how you are possibly going to get through them all!! We may as well start now!

'Stuck On You' was exactly what I love from Portia, it was fabulously festive, riddled with romance, you know that fun, you know it's coming but can't help but get excited about it anyway kind of romance? and it had plenty of laugh out loud moments that genuinely made me stop for a few minutes to just really enjoy what I was reading and giggle to myself.

I've said it before, but Portia's books do have a similar vibe in that it is like she's performing a comedy sketch to me and I mean that in a good way. Her writing feels like she could be walking round her house dictating to her computer this over the top, dramatic, hilarious, romantic story and once she's done with her performance it's all their in book form. Forgive me if that sounds terrible and I'm not making sense, I'm sure it's a lot harder than I'm making it out for Portia. I know writing books is hard work. I honestly mean it in a good way though. Her books read like a funny friend is actually telling you a story and this aspect makes me feel closer to them and the characters.

In this story I had so many moments when I just wanted to say "Oh Portia" while tears are streaking down my face with laughter and give her an elbow nudge. I can't even give away all the funny bits, but this one really got me.

I loved the laughter, I loved the festivities, I loved Damian and I thought I wouldn't but he got me! I loved the completely crazy storylines and I think you will too!

Get cosy and step into Christmas with 'Stuck On You' by Portia MacIntosh today! (See what I did there Portia! ;) - I'll go now!)

Happy Reading!
