Book Review: The Silk Merchant's Convenient Wife by Elisabeth Hobbes.

This book was SO cute. I don't usually use that word to describe the historical romances that I read, but I feel I must with this one. Carry on reading for why...

The Blurb.

A convenient marriage…
…an inconvenient passion
His parents’ loveless relationship has left silk merchant Jonathan Harcourt suspicious of marriage. But in order to expand his mill and have an heir, he must marry his neighbour Aurelia Upford. Even more surprising than finding himself with a clever, beautiful society wife, is the unexpected passion that flares between them, and the unsettling emotions it leads to. Sharing a bed was part of their arrangement, but can Jonathan risk sharing his heart, too?

My Review.

Okay, so let me explain...Jonathan and Aurelia were the cutest together. I adored them. From the moment I met Jonathan I loved that he was different to most guys I read about in the sense that he wasn't some womanizer who had a long history with different women that he was trying to move away from. He was innocent and uncertain about women and this fact made him seem rather sweet. His interactions with Aurelia were shy and occasionally awkward before he found his stride and for a successful business man, I found this so endearing and cute.

Aurelia was fiery and passionate and the two of them fit so perfectly together. Reading their ups and downs was page turning and emotional. I felt like shaking each of them every time they didn't fully express themselves, because on the inside, as they discovered more about each other, they were so loving and sweet towards one other. It was the cutest thing hearing them admit to themselves their feelings, that I was desperate for them to tell each other and not hold back.

Patience Kelly!! Everything happened as it should and the story was a delight to read. The friendship Elisabeth created between Jonathan and Aurelia throughout their marriage was simply wonderful and beautifully done. I loved reading about it. I think I've said cute, adored and love way too much in such a simple and straightforward review, but I'm lost for words with what else to write, because quite frankly, I just loved  sorry, really, really enjoyed it!!!

If you haven't gathered from this review already, I'll still say it to be sure, I highly, highly recommend you pick up a copy of 'The Silk Merchant's Convenient Wife,' today!

Happy Reading!
