Book Review: The Little Bookshop of Love Stories by Jaimie Admans.

Oh My Goodness. THIS BOOK!!! I knew there was something special about Jaimie Admans when I read 'It's a Wonderful Night,' before Christmas and I've been so excited to read another of her books ever since. Luc read 'Snowflakes at the little Christmas Tree Farm,' which I have to read and she's eager to read this now too. We keep swapping and recommending them to each other. I have to point out that upon getting the link for my review of 'It's a Wonderful Night,' I realised that, that review also started with Oh My Goodness!! Ha! Jaimie seems to have a theme and rightly so - her books are amazing!

The Blurb.

Today is the Mondayest Monday ever. Hallie Winstone has been fired – and it wasn’t even her fault!

Having lost her job and humiliated herself in front of a whole restaurant full of diners, this is absolutely, one hundred percent, the worst day of her life.

That is until she receives an email announcing that she is the lucky winner of the Once Upon a Page Bookshop!

Owning a bookshop has always been Hallie’s dream, and when she starts to find secret love letters on the first page of every book, she knows she's stumbled across something special.
But Hallie’s beloved bookshop is in financial trouble, and with sales dwindling, she can’t help but wonder if she is really cut out to run a business.
Things start to look up when she meets gorgeous, bookish Dimitri and between them, they post a few of the hidden messages online, reuniting people who thought they were lost forever.

But maybe it’s time for Hallie to find her own happy-ever-after, too?

My Review.

Okay, firstly I have to reiterate OH MY GOODNESS! I don't think I'm capable of writing a structured review for this book, I think I'm just going to say various lines about how good it is and how it made me feel. Will that suffice?? Well, it's going to have to, because my brain can't form any coherent type of normal review for this story, it's a just a fuzzy, giddy, happy book dance kind of jumble. So, here are some thoughts I had while reading:

I would really like a bookshop!

I need to help Hallie sort out those shelves and do the window display.

Who is this guy, that's just stumbled into the shop and why do I immediately LOVE him!?

Guys! I want a bookshop!

How does someone come up with such good ideas and write them so brilliantly?

I kid you not, I need a movie of this book for Dimitri alone!

I adore Hallie and how much she loves books.

So many laugh out loud moments.

Seriously. Dimitri! *Searches Pinterest for pictures that could remotely do him justice.*

Ooh I'm loving all the intrigue to these notes and their owners.

Opening day and Dimitri's bookish gifts sound amazing!

Jaimie literally gets why people love books and what's so special about them spot on!

Robert is so lovely, he ties things together perfectly!

Hallie talking about her Mum's cooking is making me laugh so hard!

There's got to be some kind of record for how many times one can swoon over a book character. If there is, I'm like 110% certain I've broken that record while reading this story.

I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!!!

This book needs to be a movie. I need to see it!

In all seriousness, I can't even begin to explain how this book made me feel. There's something so warm and wonderful about the way Jaimie writes, with so many laughs thrown in. I don't know how she does it! I urge you to pick up a copy of 'The Little Bookshop of Love Stories,' and I guarantee you will fall for each and every character, some more than others, 'Ahem, Dimitri!'

It's a bookworms dream concept and you can feel that weaved through every page. I wish I'd highlighted certain sentences - I always think I'll remember them - because Jaimie just gets it. It's so beautifully done. Be sure to pick up a copy today. You will love it!!

Happy Reading!
Love,
