Mangia: Disaronno Hot Chocolate.

At the beginning of last month we made an Orange Hot Chocolate and everyone who drank it really enjoyed it. So, this past Monday we thought we'd make another one, but this time make it more festive and of course, Italian! What better way to do that than adding one of our favourite Italian liquors, accompanied by a delicious Italian biscuit!

We enjoyed these while we watched a Christmas classic, 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.' Has anyone else got this on there must watch festive films of the season? Our Dad loves it and for a few years we always watched it together as a family, so it brings back great memories for us. What are some of your favourite Christmas movies?

Why don't you tuck into this while curled up on the couch watching one of your favourites!

What you need:

1 bag of dark chocolate buttons.
1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk.
1 1/2 cups of milk. (Lactose free is good.)
2 tbsps of Disaranno liquor. (For a subtle taste. Add more if you want it stronger.)
Soft Amaretti biscuits to decorate and serve with.
Whipped Cream.

What to do:

Add all of your ingredients, apart from the biscuits, to a small saucepan.

Keep whisking until the buttons have melted and all of the ingredients have combined.

Bring to a boil and whisk for 1-2 minutes.

Pour into two glasses. Top with whipped cream and crushed amaretti.

Serve alongside amaretti biscuits - they are one of our favourites, but we couldn't find the crunchy ones anywhere. Soft are nice too!

Have you made any of our Hot Chocolate concoctions yet?

Buon Appetito!
