La Dolce Vita: A night of Food, Friends and Fiction.

We've been so excited about this event since we announced it on Saturday! We have been talking about it with our friend Kate from Cooking and Carafes for a while now and we're thrilled that it's finally live for you all to see!

We've met so many wonderful people through social media, who share our love for food and Italy. It's amazing to us that, that love could inspire an event like this and allow us to bring our passions together in such a fun way. We've had our eye on Kate's Instagram page for a long time and have been so impressed by her pasta making skills and events, she's fantastic. Funny story, we had actually been dreaming about planning an event with Kate for a few months until we finally decided to message her and when we mentioned it, she said she had been thinking the exact same thing about us! So this event is meant to be!

If you've read Lucy's first two books How To Bake A New Beginning and The Ingredients For Happiness, you'll know that they are set on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, inspired by the place that our Nanna and Grandad are from. At our event there will be an author Q & A so you can ask Lucy all kinds of questions about her books, being a writer, getting published etc. We'll also be chatting about all things Italy in general and are looking forward to hearing your stories too; whether you have family there, are planning a trip, write a blog about Italia, cook the food, whatever your connection to our favourite place is let's chat!

Of course a big highlight of our evening is going to be the food. From arriving to a delicious anti-pasti platter, to sampling olive oil, there's going to be plenty to taste and talk about. Not only that but you'll learn how to make your very own pasta with Kate - we cannot wait for this. If you've been drooling over her Instagram forever just like us, this is a going to be so good. We will also be bringing some treats with us for you, inspired by Lucy's books and our love for baking - we'll keep you posted on what they will be!

We know this event is something our Grandad would have absolutely loved hearing about. We know that he will be with us on the day feeling "on top of the moon" that we are bringing people together for good food and a love of his homeland. Honestly, nothing makes us happier.

Here’s what to expect from the evening:
  • Welcome drink and antipasti – how all good evenings should start! Antipasti includes freshly baked bread, charcuterie and cheese
  • A conversation with… talk to us all about Italy, our blogs, and share your stories with us
  • Olive Oil tasting with Filippo Berio
  • Pasta Making – learn to make pasta from scratch with Kate. You’ll also learn how to make a sauce from scratch using Filippo Berio olive oils, before sitting down to enjoy your dish served Supper Club style!
  • Q&A with Lucy
  • Lucy and Kelly will also be cooking up some treats for you to enjoy, inspired by their Grandad and recipes for Lucy’s books.
  • Filippo Berio goodie bag – guests will get to take home some of Kate’s favourite products from Filippo Berio
  • You’ll also have a chance to buy Lucy’s novels at a discounted rate and there will be pasta and foodie gifts to purchase from Kate.
Drinks will be available from the bar at Signorelli’s. We’re all so excited to host you all in this beautiful space with the Signorelli team.
