Book Review: The Earl's Irresistible Challenge by Lara Temple.

It's always fun promoting books on twitter and sharing the book love. This past week there was a tweet about auto buy authors and well Lara Temple would be one of mine. Saying that, I'm incredibly lucky because most of the authors I read lately are extremely kind and send me their books before they come out, something I never take for granted. Whenever Lara emails me I know, no matter what, my automatic answer will be yes to reading her latest masterpiece.

Could this infamous rake…
…finally have found his Countess?
Part of The Sinful Sinclairs. When Lucas, Lord Sinclair, receives a mysterious summons from a Miss Olivia Silverdale he’s sceptical about helping her. But Olivia, although eccentric, is in earnest about her quest to restore her late godfather’s reputation. Lucas’s curiosity is piqued—and not just by Olivia’s intelligent eyes and lithe form. A new challenge quickly presents itself: keeping Miss Silverdale at arm’s length!

My Review.

This was a fun story of uncovering family secrets and trying to get to the bottom of family duels and tragic events. I really enjoy stories that keep me guessing and have mysteries to solve. It makes me feel like i'm there with the characters trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Like we're on a mission together. It's fun!

Olivia Silverdale was a force to be reckoned with. She had a task to do and was so focused and determined to get it done. I admired her stubbornness to not let it go, because it was important to her and she trusted her instincts. As for Lucas, he was charming, but in a different way to most leading men. He seemed like a bit of a loner and kept himself to himself even when he did attend balls. I usually find that Lord's will become these confident, sure of themselves, comfortable in society, young men when they are forced to attend parties, but not Lord Sinclair, it felt like when he attended such functions the rest of society was drowned out to him and his only focus was Olivia; keeping her safe and trying to figure her out. It was like he created his own world and bubble, which made his and Olivia's relationships extra intimate and special.

I really enjoyed Lucas and Olivia's dialogue, they were very straightforward and blunt with each other, which was equal parts funny as it was flirty and romantic. They made a great team and worked really well together. They didn't change who they were to fit together, they just did. Each of their characteristics complemented each others and they accepted each other for who they were, which was lovely! It made for a delightful read.

The Earl's Irresistible Challenge is a brilliant read that I highly recommend. I'm looking forward to meeting Chase, Lucas's brother properly in the next book! :)

Happy Reading!
