2018 Reflection!

This year has been another roller-coaster ride; filled with ups and downs and twists and turns. But despite some of the more heartbreaking events of this year, we felt we couldn't end it without looking back and saying thank you for all that we have learnt, for all the amazing opportunities we have been given, for the moments that filled our hearts with joy, and for the dreams that became reality.

Stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something I've wanted to do forever; getting my tattoos
Coffee mornings. Waking up each day and getting to do what I love; writing. This has come with meeting some of the most wonderful authors that inspire me every day and who have become such lovely friends.

Being able to finally attend one of my brothers strongman competitions and cheer him on.
Cooking, chatting, cuddling and basically every single second spent with my Nanna. Also, my family have been my absolute rock this year and continue to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I count my blessings every day.

Seeing Harry Styles Live at the Manchester Arena. Forever inspired.
Movie nights, adventures, tears and laughter with the best sisters anyone could ever wish for. I can't even with these two. I love them with all my heart.

Having my first book published with HQ Digital UK and experiencing writing, editing, getting a book cover sent to me for the first time, having a publication day party and having cute graphics for my own book. I adore the HQ Digital UK team and am beyond grateful for all they do and for all their support. In addition, I am forever thankful for all of you for your love, support and encouragement with 'How to Bake a New Beginning.' It's very hard to put into words how much it has meant to me. Thank you for all your reviews, shares, likes, retweets, for buying my book and taking the time to read it. It has meant the world to me and has been a dream come true. Thank you!!!

Italy has played a huge role in my life this year. I went on a sister trip with Jen to see our Auntie in Padova for the first time since I was 15/16. I took my husband for the first time to Pisa. Being in a different country with him where they don't speak English and we had to navigate our way around gave us new experiences and memories together. Our Mum also went back this year for the first time in years, seeing the pictures of her so happy, like when she was a little girl, makes my heart happy, plus her and Jen bought us back Sfogliatelle from Pasticceria Pansa which we'd never tried before but always wanted to.

This year I got to watch my husband's dream come true. It's actually quite hard to put into words just how amazing this has been. I've witnessed his passion, dedication and hard work towards his craft for years and to see it all finally pay off is indescribable. I'm so, so proud!

I talk about The Overtones a lot and for very good reason. When something/someone makes you happy in life, i'm a firm believer in sharing that happiness and loving it with all you have. The Overtones make me happy. This year was a very sad year with the passing of band member Timmy. To tell you the truth, it still hasn't quite sunk in and it breaks my heart when I listen to his beautiful voice and think about it, but seeing Mike, Mark, Lachie and Darren bring out a new album full of the most fitting, most wonderful songs and seeing them perform them on stage with so much passion and heart has been an incredible experience. I truly feel so lucky to call myself a Toner.

One of the biggest lessons I learnt this year was that the only person who can make my dreams come true is me. I may not be able to control everything that happens to me but I can control what I do with it. I changed up my routine and I made time for things that I want to do with no excuses. I started writing the books that I want to write. Lucy has been a huge inspiration to me for this and it's opened up a whole new outlet for me creatively. There are so many writing projects I want to see come to life next year and the only thing for it is hard work and commitment.

How was your 2018? What do you have planned for 2019?
