Inside the mind of a writer.

I absolutely adore tucking myself away in my office or curling up on my couch to write the day away. It's my favourite thing. Often times when i'm writing the thoughts that go through my head amuse me and on occasion they drive me mad.

Today I thought I would take you through a writing day in the life and what thoughts swirl away in my brain during the hours spent penning the stories in my head. Any authors who have ever had any of these thoughts cross their mind, raise your hands!!

* This chapter sucks.
* Is that even a sentence?
* How have I only written three words in the last half hour?
* How do you spell charade?
* I'm pretty certain I have made a permanent dent in this couch.
* Ooh look my hair is getting long enough to wrap around my neck like a scarf.
* I'm sure that's how you spell (insert just about every word) why has it got a red squiggle underneath it?
* Maybe if I swirl around on my chair one more time the words will come to me.
* How do you spell beginning? It's the title of your book, how do you keep getting it wrong?
* This entire book is rubbish.
* I've messed it all up.
* Insert characters name... why does your life have to be so complicated? Why are you doing that? That's not making any sense.
* If I just stare at the screen really intently for another hour I'm sure the words will come flooding out again.
* I need more coffee.
* Writing is so much fun.
* I'll just get up and walk over there and walk back and it will be fine.
* I can't write books.
* I'll just watch one more video of One Direction and it will be all the inspiration I need. It's OK, it's research.
*Where is my notebook that I wrote that very important piece of information in, that I need right now for this part of the story?
* Damn it why did I not write that down?
* I love, love, love writing!!!!

I hope you enjoyed a brief welcome into my brain on a typical writing day. If you have any other funny things that go through your head when writing, i'd love to read about them in the comments below.

Happy writing.
