A blessing not a curse.

We did a post not too long ago for the #dolcevitabloggers about Italian culture shock. There wasn't much about Italy that shocked us with us having grown up with Italian Grandparents, so instead we wrote about traits we feel we possess because of our Italian blood. We forgot a very important one, which I wanted to talk about today...

We are incredibly passionate people.

This means:

We love with everything we have.

We can go from 0 to 60 in seconds when talking about something we believe in or feel strongly about.

We can be very emotional.

We get attached to people that make us happy and fill our hearts with love.

We can't always concentrate on one thing because we have so many things we love and want to do.

We will do anything for our family.  Their love means everything.

If we feel negative vibes, we find moving away from the situation to be best. No matter your job title or position in the world, you should always be able to ask if people are OK or apologize for your wrong doings.

The reason this is so important to us, is because lately we've felt like we've had to apologize and feel bad about our passionate nature. Like being too emotional or attached is negative and we shouldn't be that way. Well, at thirty years old, we're holding our heads high and owning it. There's no supposed to's or box that you should fit in when it comes to passion or emotions. You can't try to tone it down because of this or that. You can learn what brings you inner peace, but you should never conform to suit others or a job title. We're Italian. Being passionate is who we are and we aren't going to say sorry for that.

In short, I just wanted to remind you to never feel bad for being who you are. Whatever your traits, own them. Keep your head held high and never let anyone take advantage of you. As long as you are a good person and you act in love and with kindness in your heart, then be 100% you, always. You caring and just giving that little bit more, could make all the difference in someone's life, who needed it.

Have a wonderful day.

  1. Ah I love this post and I love this quote too! I feel so many of us apologise for well, being ourselves and I don't get it!

We are all beautiful and unique in our own way and we all need to embrace each other no matter the flaws. We all need to support each other rather than criticise and it's the little things that count! We need to embrace and be happy / grateful with what we have instead of wishing for what we don't have and count everything as a blessing!

    Wishing you a wonderful week!!!

  2. Aww thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed the post! I agree, it's so important to count our blessings and look for the good in each day, as well as in ourselves! We end up being so hard on ourselves because of the way we can be treated by others and it's not on!! We need to be proud and stand tall! :)

Hope you have a wonderful week too! xx

  3. I adored this - so honest and open!! Plus the quotes are a lovely addition :) Tania Michele xx
