So, I wrote a book...

This GIF though! It's kind of my expression right now, like 'Yep, me!! I wrote a book!' I've very much been in dream land since it was announced on Friday.

Roughly four years ago, inspired by the adoration I have for my husband, I decided to put pen to paper and write a romance novel. I had always dreamed of writing a book and I knew the story I had in my head, it was just a matter of getting it on the page. I wrote plans, character descriptions, plots and chapters and then I re-wrote plans, character descriptions, plots and chapters and that went on for some time.

My time frame is a little off, but I want to say about two-three years ago, my characters started taking shape and I began to simply follow the story I had in my head. It took a minute to get there, but once it clicked, sitting down at my computer was a joy. Every day I looked forward to disappearing into Amanda, Sabrina and Louisa's worlds. I couldn't wait to get up in the morning, get my coffee and sit down and write.

I have to say, being a book blogger, I was incredibly fortunate to have so many amazing authors around me. I picked up tips and tricks along the way from social media, of how they treated writing like a job, scheduling time to write and sticking to it, writing through writer's block and so on. And I was even more blessed to have the awesome Rebecca Raisin and wonderful Holly Martin guide me, read my work and help me to no end. I can't thank them enough! You ladies are just lovely!!

I want to say it was back at the end of 2016 that I started putting proposals together and felt somewhat confident enough to send my draft to publishers. Then in August 2017 I got the wonderful and very emotional call from Hannah at HQ to offer me a contract. It was an incredibly exciting, bittersweet, happy and sad moment for me, but one I am extremely thankful for and won't soon forget.

"How to Bake a New Beginning" will be out on September 9th, but you can Pre-order it now on Amazon, and I truly hope you like it. It is a story of family, friendship, love and food and really a celebration of it all. It's about overcoming difficult times, facing your fears and being bold enough to go after your dreams. And it is an absolute dream come true for me to share it with you. Also, how insanely cute and perfect is my cover??! EEEKK, it's so pretty, I love it. The HQ team are fabulous and I love them!!

I want to thank everyone at HQ Digital for this amazing opportunity and Hannah for being absolutely brilliant, inspiring and motivating. Also, all the kick ass people in my life for supporting me and allowing me to disappear into my writing space and be a little bit of a social outcast when I get in writer mode, especially my husband and my sisters! :p

I will be sharing more on my writing journey over on our YouTube channel, if you would like to Subscribe to get all the latest news and of course, to see us being random and goofy as per usual! :p

Always dream big!
