So, we've talked about Disney parks, Disney food, Disney vacations and our favourite Disney movies. But recently, while in the car singing our little hearts out to the Tangled soundtrack, we realized that we have never spoken about Disney songs. This seems crazy to us, as certain ones could very well be the soundtrack to our lives. Plus everyone loves a good Disney song. We bet there are at least five that can take you back to a certain time and place as a child. Without further ado, here, in no particular order, are our Top Ten Disney songs.
1. Tangled: 'When will my life begin?'
This song pretty much reads as a list of the things we do on a daily basis. Also, without fail, as soon as we mention what time we woke up to our sister or husbands, we are guaranteed to start singing it.
2. Tangled: 'I see the light.'
This played at my wedding, (Lucy) as Chris and I walked down the isle, so it's extra special for me and I just adore it. It's the cutest, perfect song and I can relate to it so much.
3. Beauty and the Beast: 'Belle.'
It's just a classic!! It reminds us of being kids and just being immersed in the Disney world. Plus we love the scene in the library when Belle's singing.
So, you probably already know by now how awesome our little sister Jen is, we say it enough, but this song really cements her awesomeness to us. Jen would play it for us when we were heading to wrestling shows or events and were feeling nervous. Like we said - awesome. We would sing it from the top of our lungs and laugh with her and our nerves would start to settle.
5. Hercules: 'Zero to Hero.'
Another classic that is just so much fun to sing. You can't help get a little jig going and feeling empowered singing this song.
6. Mulan: 'I'll make a man out of you.'
There is never, ever going to come a time when we hear 'Let's get down to business,' and don't immediately think of defeating the Huns. It's just not going to happen.
7. Aladdin: 'Friend like me.'
Robin William's incredible talent shines in this, which makes it a song that puts an instant smile on our faces. He was brilliant.
8. Aladdin: 'I can show you the world.'
How many times over the course of your life have you burst in to this song the moment someone says "I can show you..." :p We have very much lost count.
9. Princess and the Frog: 'Dig a little deeper.'
We have our own special kitchen dance routine to this song with our Mum and Jen. Just picture crazy, random dancing, with lots of digging motions and skipping, and that would be pretty much spot on. :p
10. The Lion King: 'I just can't wait to be king.'
We adored The Lion King growing up, as you know, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and all. We loved this song and would happily walk around singing it and doing the best 'roars' we could muster.
What are you favourite Disney songs?

Thank you! We love that one! We're sure we sang it at school once, or the kids did for something when we worked at a school. Either way, it's a lovely song! :)
DeleteI can't believe it- I haven't heard like half of these songs except for the Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin and Mulan ones!
ReplyDeleteAnd YES to "Let's get down to business!" I mean, that line will just never go out of style. All the Mulan songs are so catchy- the one where the guy sings, "I've a girl back home who's unlike any other" and the other guy is like "the only girl who'd love him is his mother." It would always make me chuckle. Also, I'm crazy weird but I loved "Be Prepared" by Scar in the Lion King. Soooo good! And of course I can't forget about Pocahontas- Colors of the Wind...the lyrics are just so, so powerful and I'm constantly singing them in my head and trying to apply them to my life. :)
Really!!?? Victoria where have you been?? ;p
DeleteNow you're making us want to watch Mulan again. It is a great movie, we are in love with Eddie Murphy as Mushu - hilarious!
That is a great song though and The Lion King is such a classic, it's hard not to like everything about it! :)
We really need to watch Pocahontas, it's been years since we saw it. We used to have these Pocahontas files growing up, that we adored.
xx
I'll make a Man out of You is literally the best Disney song... EVER!! :) Tania Michele xx
