Mum, Dad...I want to be...

Recently we were reminiscing about our childhood and got thinking about all the things we said we wanted to be once we were grown up. Today we thought it would be fun to share them with you. Some were mere childhood daydreams, some fizzled out, some barely got off the ground (We'll explain that later) and some we actually became.

Superman was the very first person we pretended to be when we were kids. We loved running around in our Superman capes chasing after our little brother. We very much wanted to fly and to be able to have powers like he had and help people.

The Pink Ranger and the Yellow Ranger.
Similar to that of Superman, we just thought the Power Rangers were the coolest. We did gymnastics growing up, so we adored that Kimberly (the pink ranger) did gymnastics in the show. We had the figures, we play fought in the back garden and we wished with all our might we could Morphe just like them.

We always loved books. We read a lot when we were kids. And when Harry Potter came a long, it cemented our bookworm status. We were happy in our fantasy worlds and admired the authors so much for creating them. Even at a young age we were jotting things down and were fond of notebooks and pens. As we got older, our passion for books continued to grow, so much so, that now we are taking our little daydreams further and are determined to have our own books and cookbooks one day.

Drummer and Guitar player.
We played Guitar in primary school and gave it up when we went to high school. It's something we wish we had continued to do. We enjoyed learning it, but honestly, it was hard work. We are not musically gifted and were not natural strummers! :p Kelly did really well for a while teaching herself how to play drums from a book. She could play a few cool tracks, but beats and putting her own twist to things or playing from the heart didn't come naturally. It's something that fizzled out. (Slaps wrists)

Professional Skateboarders.
Yes, this would be the job that never quite made it off the ground...quite literally. When we were in our teens, we had a few Summers where we got hooked on watching the X-Games. We got so excited watching the skateboarding, Motocross and BMX, it just looked like so much fun. We knew all the guys names and had our favourites, we read books, did our research on the guys and loved everything about it. Then one fateful Summer we set about teaching ourselves how to skateboard. It was a short lived career. Kelly belly flopped the concrete a few times and after a gazillion unsuccessful attempts at ollying the one inch curb in our garden, we called it a day.

Professional Wrestlers.
This is what we have to thank for the delightful pictures displayed in this post. From the age of twelve to probably around twenty one, we kid you not, we challenge you to find a picture of us where we are not doing The Hardy Boyz hand signs. At twelve years old we wanted to be The Hardy Boyz and that dream didn't fade until just a few years ago. And if we're being completely honest, we don't feel it has truly faded, not really. The minute Matt and Jeff Hardy returned at Wrestlemania, we had chills. The excitement bubbled inside us and we got that overwhelming sense of happiness that anything is possible. They inspired us throughout our teen years and wrestling careers and for that we will forever be indebted to them. As a cool side note, we remember meeting Matt Hardy at the age of sixteen years old and giving him a letter saying we were going to be wrestlers one day, because of him and Jeff. Eight years later we met Jeff when we were working for TNA! :) Dreams do come true!

What did you want to be growing up? Did you become what you always dreamed of?

Have an awesome day!
