Protein Shakes, tried and tested!

I have been on the hunt for a delicious protein shake for the absolute longest time. I don't know about you but every time someone recommends one or says it's amazing I always end up trying it and being left disappointed. The fitness market is saturated with products and naturally they all claim to be the best. So where do you even start? Furthermore, these products are not cheap, it sucks to spend money on something to then find out that you don't like it. When it comes to food I don't like waste and am left chugging a protein shake while holding my nose. We've all been there before right? :p

A few weeks back my husband and I stopped by the Discount Nutrition Center in Tampa, as they were holding an event that included a meet and greet with Heidi Somers, whom I adore. She was amazing and so sweet and inspiring, we had such a good time. While there we also go to pick up a bunch of samples from some awesome brands, which I was so grateful for. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for me to taste test some products in search for my next Protein powder purchase, and in turn share my thoughts with you, if you too are in the market for a new protein powder. Though I normally like to blend my protein with a banana and peanut butter, I have just mixed these powders with water to get the real flavor.

Quest Nutrition!
I have heard so many great things about the Quest powder and I adore the Quest Bars and Quest Chips, so I was looking forward to being able to try these.
Salted Caramel: 3 out of 5 stars.
This wasn't too bad but it taste like a protein shake. It did have that salted caramel desert taste but became a little too sweet for me.
Chocolate Milkshake. 2 out of 5 stars.
I'm sorry to say it but I really didn't enjoy this chocolate shake. It just had a very weird taste and I found it hard to drink. We all know how milkshakes taste and unfortunately it just couldn't compare.
Peanut Butter. 2 out of 5 stars.
Chris loves peanut butter so he test this one for me and he wasn't a fan. He explained it had a strange bite to it and had that very strong protein taste.
*Sidenote, I also tried their Banana Crème protein powder and really enjoyed it, especially mixed with almond milk or peanut butter, it was rather delicious, so that would be their winner for me! :)
Synthr-6 Edge.
I had never heard of this brand before, so I had no expectations, other than Chris saying it was a great, more expensive brand.
Chocolate Milkshake. 5 out of 5 stars.
This taste amazing, there was no odd protein taste or bad aftertastes, it literally taste to me like chocolate milk and I was pleasantly surprised to finally drink a shake and actually really like it and take my time drinking it.
Sugar cookie. 4 out of 5 stars.
Again this was a great shake, the only reason it has one less star is that the sugar cookie flavor just got a bit too sweet for me. But I was able to slowly drink it and enjoy it and their was no funny taste, just simple like eating a sugar cookie.
Adaptogen Science
Again I had never come across this Protein powder before, as I have always just gone with whatever my brother had or something simple from the grocery store, but we got to try a little taste of the chocolate peanut butter one at the event and it taste awesome. We couldn't wait to dig into the samples.
Strawberry Crème. 5 out of 5 stars.
This hands down taste like a milkshake, it was delicious. I took my time drinking it and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was no aftertaste or strong protein flavor, just creamy yumminess. I think it would be even more awesome if I blended it with ice like I usually do with my shakes or maybe even with almond milk, but just with water it was still really good.

Do you have a favourite Protein powder? Can you recommend any delicious ones?

Have an awesome day!
Love Lucy xx
