Energy Boosting Snacks with Go To Meeting.*

You know when you are sitting at your desk, rushing back from errands or heading home from work and you can feel yourself start to get hangry? Your mind is going through all the options you have in the fridge or in the cupboard and after a few minutes pondering what you could eat, you decide you don’t have anything in you fancy and your hanger builds? You just want anything and everything to satisfy your hunger and ideally it would be pizza or doughnuts?
Well, we do that on a somewhat regular basis. So often we get carried away with blogging and writing that time runs away with us and before we know it, our stomachs are a rumbling. And we have to admit, when we are out of food prep or just don’t want that rice cake, we are left stroppy and stuck for ideas. 

Then we read an article on healthy snacks over at and had a look at their list of 15 healthy snacks that you can easily prepare, keep in your office drawer or even in your handbag. We had tried some of them before, the dark chocolate for example and the Kale chips, those are a winner and super simple to make at home, but having got caught up in our routines, we sometimes forgot about all those other wonderful healthy ideas that can make that hanger go away quite easily. So thank you 'Go to meeting' for jogging our memories and giving us a little inspiration when thinking of a healthy pick me up in the afternoon. Here are two of our favourites from their list that we are definitely going to try.

Goji Berries.
We love nibbling and snacking, so berries are ideal. Goji berries are instant energy boosters as they increase your blood flow, which we just learnt from 'Go to meeting', they are also packed with tons of Vitamins.

Whole Grain crackers with hummus.
Hummus is high in antioxidants, iron and protein and the whole grain from the crackers help to release energy slowly over the course of the afternoon. We love hummus and can never say no to healthier carbs like crackers, so we will definitely have to stock up on this snack more often.

And here are two more ideas we thought we could add to that list.
Light and Fit Dannon Lemon Meringue Yoghurt.
We love these for an afternoon snack. The sweetness of the lemon is perfect if you have a sweet tooth like us and it definitely hits the spot and satisfies that craving rather than reaching for a sugary cake or soda. It's packed with 12g of protein that works wonders in keeping you full and it has just enough carbs to boost your energy, in addition to the fresh lemon taste that perks you right up. On top of all that, they are just wonderfully creamy and delicious.
Protein pillow cookies.

We love having homemade snacks available and ready to go. We would choose homemade over store bought and processed any day of the week, as we love knowing what's in our food. These protein cookies contain all of five ingredients, protein powder, unsweetened apple sauce, baking powder, coconut flour and a sprinkle of chocolate chips. Applesauce is a great energy booster and also contains a lovely amount of Vitamin C.
