Top 4 Healthy Breakfasts!

Breakfast is by far my favourite meal of the day. I am very much a morning person and love getting up when the apartment is all quiet and it is still dark outside. Coffee is always my first port of call before I sit at my desk to go over emails, write and work on some blog posts. During the weekdays, breakfast is usually quite simple, I'll make scrambled eggs and turkey bacon or have a bowl of oats with Almond milk plus scrambled eggs. But on the weekends I like to get a little more creative when I know I get to curl up with my husband and leisurely eat our breakfast, while watching wrestling or one of our favourite shows.

Today I thought I would share 4 breakfasts that I look forward to the most! :)

Smoothie bowl

I love this for when I'm not in the mood for anything too heavy and I fancy something fresh with plenty of vitamins and all around goodness. Above I blended 2 banana's with around half a cup of unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk and on top you have 1 kiwi, about 1 and a half teaspoons of Chai seeds for extra protein, 1/4 cup, and a little extra, Protein Granola and 1 square of 70% dark chocolate. Simple to make and extremely satisfying.

Kodiak cakes

I came across these when watching Nikki Blackketter and decided to give them a try. We are definitely all about pancakes in our house and with these ones packing a great amount of protein, I was eager to test them. They didn't disappoint and Kodiak cakes are now a staple in our house. We enjoyed the Buttermilk ones but their new flavours Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter are amazing. I usually opt for the Dark Chocolate while Chris loves his Peanut Butter, but if you're feeling dangerous, try mixing the two! :) We simply eat them with sugar free syrup but you can top with fruit or Turkey Bacon too.

English muffins and scrambled egg.

I found these cinnamon oat English muffins in Walmart the other day and was super excited to read that they were high protein. They taste delicious and I don't know about you but I always feel like I'm having a scrumptious treat when I get to enjoy a sweet breakfast. I like to have them with some egg whites or just some scrambled egg to add a touch more protein and to keep me fuller for longer! :)

Breakfast burritos.

Chris and I love burritos and he is the best at making them. When he first made me this breakfast burrito I got so excited. I thought "Burrito's for breakfast? Yes please!" :p I still get excited when he cooks breakfast on the weekends and decides to make these. These are really awesome for protein and keeping you fuller for longer, if you are heading out for the day. We love having them before we go to the beach, so we don't have to think about food for a little while. We get lean ground beef, scramble some eggs, add a tablespoon or so of salsa, sometimes Chris will make his fresh homemade salsa, and a sprinkle of cheese and wrap it all up in a low carb tortilla, mmm delicious! :)

What are your breakfast favourites?

Have an awesome Friday!
Love Lucy xx
