10 things being a Pro Wrestler has taught me about life!

After a nine year professional wrestling career and seventeen years being a wrestling fan, it's safe to say that the sports entertainment industry has taught me a thing or two about life. Today I pass on these lessons to you! :)

1) You are only going to get better and improve yourself, if you are pulled/willingly step out of your comfort zone!

2) Nine times out of ten, when you make a mistake, only YOU know about it. Dust yourself off and carry on.

3) It doesn't matter what "spotlight" you are trying to reach. Working together and lifting each other up will always, always be better than putting others down and wishing to see others fail.

4) There are always going to be men who think that women don't belong in certain jobs or industries, same can probably be said the other way round too. No matter what you want to do, go for it, don't let anyone say you can't be like them or as good as them, work your butt off and be better BUT not for them, for YOU, because YOU want it!

5) It's always good to arrive early, especially for work and job interviews. It shows you care and looks professional. We were taught this from the moment we started training, it was always good to be there at least 10 minutes before class, so that you had your boots and were ready to go as soon as class started.

6) You never stop learning. No matter how much you think you know, there is always something else to learn and somebody to learn from. This even goes for yourself! We have never watched a match of ours and thought "Yep that was 100% perfect" and we would bet there isn't anybody out there who actually has thought that. You learn from your mistakes, you learn from the fans, you learn from your opponent, even if it's a tiny thing, you've still learnt something.

7) Respect who came before you. Family, colleagues, bosses, whoever it may be, learn your history and respect the people who paved the path for you. We got into wrestling in 2001, the era of of The Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian and The Dudleys, we loved those guys and still do but before them there were legends like Macho Man Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Rick Flair, Mr Perfect, The Rockers and Bret Hart. Men who had set boundaries and made the wrestling business what it is today. We watched tape after tape, match after match to learn our history and respect those men and woman who came before us.

8) It's important to look good, but don't compare yourself to other people. Embrace who you are and BE HAPPY with you. If you want to workout, do it for you, so you can be healthy and take care of yourself. Diets suck so you need to find a balance that works for you and still enjoy life too!

9) Stand up for yourself. There are always going to be people who have different opinions than you and are more confident about sharing them than you. DON'T LET THEM WALK ALL OVER YOU. Say something, you will either make a good point and can do what you had in mind or you can compromise but don't get upset about something afterwards if you never even spoke up in the first place! Oh and if they still don't listen but you are sure you know better..do it anyway! ;p

10) NEVER....EEEEEEVER (Y2J voice only please) be embarrassed about what you love!

ohhhhhh yeeeeaahhhhhh!!!

Have a weekend that "Totally reeks of awesomeness"
