We are Thankful for...

Whilst Thanksgiving is not a British Tradition, we are very well accustomed to it nowadays and enjoy spending the day with our American Families. We love the traditional food and everyone coming together, but most of all we love that is a time to stop and give thanks. It's a reminder to think about the good things in your life, to forget about the negatives and to just be grateful. Today, we want to share a few of the things we are most thankful for.

* This week, started off with my sister's and I having a hilarious conversation with our Dad. He was busy at work and we were all super excited about something...we will share just exactly what it was with you all in a few days! We were joking around with Dad about who his favourite child is and getting over excited. He was trying to work so we all kept saying we would leave him to it, until something else had to be said and the conversation continued for a few more minutes. It was the perfect way to start my day and had me feeling so happy and thankful that I get a long with my family so much and that we actually get to have these fun conversations because we get on so well! We get to see them soon and I am literally counting down the days till these hilarious conversations are happening round the dinner table rather than on voxer!

* Since we will be spending Christmas in England this year, we are heading to Virginia today for just over a week to spend time with my in laws and Meme before flying to the UK. We have been planning our American Christmas day, as well as trips to Busch Garden's Christmas town and Christmas light tours for while we are there, but in the midst of all the planning I have paused a few times to say thank you for the fact that I have this wonderful second family with whom I get to do all these Christmas things with. Being so far away from home isn't easy and if I'm honest, rather than getting easier as time goes on, it's actually getting harder, but moments like these when my Mother in Law is planning fun days out and getting all excited about Christmas, do make me stop to think about just how lucky I am. I get two Christmases and I get to spend them both with the best people ever!

* I am thankful that I have the most wonderful friends that became my family. Some people come and go from your life and occasionally I have found myself worried that I would lose touch with people or life would just take them in a different direction, but over the last 6 years I have made some of the best friends I could possibly imagine and no matter how far they have travelled or where their lives have taken them (Australia, Nashville, Florida) we have managed to keep the bond that we first established all those years ago. It's so comforting to know that you can pick up where you left off and that you don't have to worry. There are certain people that I just know are meant to be there and for that I am thankful. I will add to that, that I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that one of my best friends is now my Brother in law, partly because now I know he can't go anywhere, moo haha, but also because even though we may now have to deal with family stuff and being together all the time (pretty much) he is still one of the coolest people I know and I get a kick out of reminding myself that 6 years ago he quite literally became one of the biggest influences I had ever had in all my 27 years, as well as a best friend. Now that he is family, it's, well... it's Totally Awesome!

* I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't say thank you for my family and friends. So thanksgiving is the perfect holiday to simply celebrate them even more and say thank you a million times over for having them all in my life. My family is quite simply the most important thing in my life. The love I have for them I don't think I will ever be able to fully express in words. The friends I have made over the last few years make my heart happy and fill me with so much joy and love I can't even tell you. Its a wonderful feeling to just look at a person and smile so big that they are a part of your life, I find myself doing that a whole lot these days. For the memories we have created together, to the love they show me daily, to the way in which they inspire me, to the constant source of happiness they provide me, to the pride I have that they are mine, I am thankful and forever grateful for my family and friends.

* I am thankful for the roof over my head, food on the table, my health and the health of those around me. I feel like as I am getting older and the more I see awful things on the news, its never been more important to truly, wholeheartedly say thank you for getting to wake up and live another day. Of course, bad things have always happened and I have always appreciated food on the table and getting to sleep in my bed and being healthy, but I think now that I am older it can be quite emotionally overwhelming realizing how wonderful it is that I get to wake up and experience life. That might sound silly but I feel I can comprehend it more now that you just never know what each day will bring and that another day is a blessing. While that terrifies me and scares me to death, I'm trying to really focus and learn on keeping myself positive and making the most of every day, being kinder, more loving, spreading smiles and putting more joy into the world.

* I am thankful for my journey so far, for the adventures and all the incredible experiences. From wrestling, teaching, living in America, to creating this blog, writing and starting a YouTube channel, I adore it all and it means the world to me that I have been able to do so much and continue to live such a creative life. I have so many dreams and goals and I get excited to wake up each and every day and create, taking the dreams a step further and simply having fun. I am grateful to every single person who reads this blog, writes comments, tweets us, watches our YouTube videos and who continue to show their love and support, it truly means everything to me. You are awesome! :)

We hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, happy and love filled Thanksgiving!

Keep smiling! :)
Lucy and Kelly xx
