Book Review: The Mysterious Miss Fairchild by Sarah Mallory.

Mysterious was definitely was the right word to use for Miss Fairchild and for this book! I was intrigued by everything and couldn't read quick enough to find out what was going on. Who was Miss Fairchild? Who was pulling the strings? How is Lord Dalmorren going to work this one out and what's his nephew going to do?

The Blurb.

An accomplished beauty…
But a most unsuitable match!
Natalya Fairchild can’t help but be drawn to Tristan Quintrell, Lord Dalmorren, with his effortless charisma, even if he’s not her intended bridegroom. Tristan is an eligible society catch…whereas Natalya’s unknown heritage could label her ruined! As he helps Natalya investigate her mysterious past, she starts to hope the truth of her conception won’t destroy her prospects…of a life with Tristan!

My Review.

Lord Dalmorren was likeable from the moment I first met him. I think his interactions with his nephew were what drew me to him first. I liked how he good naturedly teased and cared about him and the fact that they could talk openly about everything with each other. He came across quite mature and serious for his age, but when speaking to Freddie, his nephew, he seemed to act younger and more his age. I enjoyed these moments and seeing him in this light.

I felt for Miss Fairchild right from the start. She never had a moment for herself and was constantly left in the dark. As I turned each page I got more and more frustrated alongside her. I wanted answers to all her burning questions and I wanted them when she did. She was battling between gratitude for her education and a roof over her head and a dislike for the people who weren't telling her what she wanted to know. It was definitely a mystery that kept building and building and left me wanting more each time I finished a chapter.

Lord Dalmorren and Miss Fairchild's relationship was one that had me on edge at first, without giving too much away, I was initially wondering how on earth they were going to pull it off without upsetting certain people. My brain was working overtime trying to think of how it could possibly play out. Thankfully things worked out for the best and you'll just have to read the book to find out what the best was.

If you're looking for flirtatious romance, intrigue and a whole lot of mystery. (I'm so singing that last part in the tune of One Direction's History!)  then pick up 'The Mysterious Miss Fairchild' today!

Happy Reading!
Love,
