Stewed Apple and Mango with Natural Yoghurt.


We're interested to know if anyone likes, or has stewed apples? We've made them a lot over the years for our Nanna and Grandad and last year when we visited the Cotswolds, and had an apple tree outside, we adored being able to pick them fresh and whip up whatever appley goodness our hearts desired. 


Usually Nanna and Grandad would eat them plain or with raisins as a light dinner, but earlier this week our Auntie decided to spice them up a bit for a dessert. One thing we can guarantee about Nanna and Grandad's house is, that no matter what or what isn't in the fridge we will always get delicious food - it's like magic! This was so good that we couldn't help but write it down to share with you. It's simple, it's incredibly quick and it's healthy too! 


What you need:

1 Mango
3 Apples
A handful of raisins
Apple Juice
Cinnamon
Natural/Greek yogurt
1 small square of Lindt dark orange chocolate (You can use plain dark chocolate too)


What to do:

Peel and cut your apples into small chunks, then do the same with the mango.

Place them in a pan with enough apple juice to cover the bottom and to give the fruit some extra moisture. Add the raisins and sprinkle over some cinnamon. (To taste)

Cook the fruit on a medium/high heat for about five minutes, mixing occasionally and keeping an eye on it so it doesn't go too mushy. 

Allow to cool or serve warm with a dollop of natural/Greek yogurt and some dark chocolate shavings.
