Getting into bed after a long day. That first sip of coffee in the morning. Hot water bottles at the end of the bed. Feeling satisfied and full after a delicious meal. These are all wonderful feelings of contentment and happiness. Moments when all is right with the world. I think that reading a book by one of my favourite authors fits perfectly into this category too. It just makes me say "ahhh," and relax.

I adore Jennifer Joyce's writing. I know I've said it before, and I know I will say it again, but her books just have that relaxing quality, that make me happy and enjoy being stuck between their pages. I was literally clock watching this past week, trying to get all my jobs done around the house, so that I could snuggle up in bed for an hour to read before bedtime. Jennifer writes with charm, humour and sass, which I just can't get enough off... literally... every book I've read of hers I've devoured.

Jennifer gives us another strong, likable, funny leading lady in 'The Wedding That Changed Everything.' Emily Atkinson has had enough of dating the wrong guys, she knows they are only going to get so far, before the wall she's built around herself stops them getting closer anyway, so why bother anymore? Unfortunately for Emily it isn't as simple as boycotting men, when her best friend Alice is absolutely determined to find her, her Prince Charming. When Alice decides to make Emily her plus one to her sisters wedding at a huge castle, with only that goal in mind, Emily isn't so sure the history and week long party is enough to persuade her to agree to go. But she also can't say no to her best friend! As the wedding week commences, Emily certainly meets plenty of frogs, however, she may unexpectedly find her knight in shining armour too!

What can I say? (Except you're welcome - anyone else? Just me...moving on.) I found myself so involved in this book, what the characters were doing, where they were going, how they were feeling. I really felt like I was in the story. Emily and Alice had such a wonderful friendship, definitely my new best friends material. They could fall out and be friends five minutes later because they were honest with each other. They may not have always liked what the other had to say, but understood when it was coming from a good place. They wanted what was best for each other, even if that did mean Alice practically threw guys at Emily!

The setting and the scenery had me wishing I'd had a week long wedding celebration at a castle! The grounds sounded dreamy and enchanting, I need to find me an umbrella tree, it sounded like the perfect place to read. I loved the idea that the wedding guests all took part in sports, games and treasure hunts before the big day arrived. It sounded like so much fun and a cool way for people to get to know each other. As long as they weren't too competitive!

As for Emily's knight in shining armour, I'm not going to say too much because I don't want to give the game away. I for one was going down a different path early on, but was surprised and super happy with the end result! He's pretty irresistible and as much as I probably shouldn't admit to how quickly I seem to fall for fictional leading men, I just can't help it, I fell for him hook line and sinker! :)

'The Wedding That Changed Everything,' is another delight from Jennifer Joyce. I swear as long as she keeps writing books, I know my bookshelf is in safe hands. This story made me laugh, swoon and dream. Get it on your TBR pile today!

Happy Reading!
Love
