With a busy work schedule, I don't get as much time to read as I used to, which means when I do pick up a book lately, I want it to transport me to another place and take my mind off the real world for a while. You know that feeling of just sinking into your pillow in utter relaxation mode? Well, that's exactly what I got this past week while reading this new delight from Fiona Collins.

I love romance and being completely swept up by bright blue eyes, abs of steel and comedians, but sometimes it's lovely to read a book where the main story isn't a fairy tale guy meets girl and goes after girl until they live happily ever after story. You may be thinking "but Kelly this happens in this book!" yes, yes it does and it's completely charming but it isn't the main story. The main story is all about sisters Meg and Sarah. Who have quite the story indeed.

Meg left home twenty years ago and made a fabulous life for herself in London. She owns Tempest model agency and absolutely loves her job. So when she collapses at work and is told by doctors she must take a break for two months, she is devastated. Even more so when the only place she can possibly think of going to get some 'fresh country air," is back home to her sister's cottage. Is that even possible?

Sarah is restless in the country. Her twins are growing up and heading off to collage soon, well one of them is, and there's only so much wandering around her apple orchard she can do. So when she sees an advertisement for her old job in London, on a whim she applies for it. She is dumbfounded when she actually gets it, but feels it could be a new start and a chance for her to do something for her again. The only problem is she needs to be in London soon and a hotel wouldn't be ideal. Is she really going to make the call to the only person who may be able to help her, after all this time?

I really enjoyed this story. Like I said earlier, I felt completely content and relaxed reading it each night and even took it took work so I could squeeze in a little reading time while waiting for my shift to start. I became absorbed in the lives of Meg and Sarah and equally loved the country life and the hustle and bustle of London life. I would probably be more of the country gal, however, in another life I have to say the excitement of events organizing does seem rather fun and glamorous (at times!)

I will admit that at first, I felt like I couldn't connect to Meg and Sarah, because my mind was so sad that they hadn't spoken for so long and weren't interested in reconnecting again. Having two sisters who I wouldn't know what to do without, made me feel like how could you possibly be like that? As their story progressed and unraveled though, I started to really sympathize with them both and understand the pain and heartbreak each sister had gone through. Events happen in life and we all deal with them in different ways. The Sister Swap was perfect to get Meg and Sarah to realize what the other had to deal with all those years ago when they first fell out. I loved each little eureka moment and each little sister win when they slowly started communicating again. By the end of the story I literally felt teary and so happy, that they found a little bit of that happily ever after together - not just with men, but there is that too and it's so, so cute!

I will mention the men now because they were incredibly sweet. There was no messing around with Jamie and Dylan which was a super plus for me! I don't like too much back and forth and games when it comes to romance. These men knew what they liked and spoke from the heart! Brownie points and plenty of them! :)

If you are looking for a new read that has heart, glamour, empowerment and plenty of fresh country air, then I definitely recommend 'The Sister Swap.' Get it now, relax and enjoy! :)

Happy Reading!
Love

  2. Oh I love the sound of this book! I read a lot of psychological thrillers and crime books but need to break them up with slightly lighter books and this sounds absolutely perfect, thanks for the review/recommendation!
