Dolce Vita Bloggers: Inspirational Women.

This month's Dolce Vita Bloggers topic is Inspirational Women. Fortunately for us, we don't have to look very far to find them. There are numerous strong and incredible Italian women in our family, who we think about and look upto daily. There are also women we have come across through the powers of social media, who motivate us to go after our goals each day. Let's chat; Women who run the world...

Cara Nanna.

It's hard not to gush when it comes to this amazing women, because she is pretty freaking awesome. Nanna was born in Praiano, Italy and is one of eleven children. She was a seamstress and recently started knitting again - visit our Instagram to see our rather fabulous bobble hats! Nanna married our Grandad when she was thirty two and ten days after their wedding they moved to England. She's not had it easy over the years, as after two operations on her heart (she was born with a hole in hers) she stopped flying. This has meant she's never been to see her sister in New York, and up until two years ago, when our Auntie Giuseppina came for a visit, she hadn't seen her for nineteen years! We honestly don't know how she did it. Some of her sister's have visited England over the years, some even lived here for a while, but Nanna hasn't been back to Italy since we were four. We know she misses her home terribly and we often wish we could get her on a train and take her, but at eighty-seven with a few serious ailments, in addition to little age old niggles and stubbornness to boot, it's not really possible. But Nanna continues to inspire us every day with her strength, love and determination. Through all these aches and pains, she cooks, knits, smiles and gets on with it. We're very lucky to have her and count our blessings every day. Walking into hers and Grandad's house is our biggest comfort in life. There is no place like it in the world! Oh and speaking of sister's, Nanna's sisters are Italian powerhouses wrapped in cute, small packaging. Walking up a hundred steps on a burning hot Italian day might be torture for us, but for our Auntie Rosetta, at seventy-nine years of age, it's a doddle.

Mamma Nostre.

Let's just say our Mum got Nanna's strength and inspiring qualities, as well as both Nanna and Grandad's stubborn nature...Mother always knows best. We can laugh about this and roll our eyes, but 95% of the time, Mother really does know best. If we can be half the Mum she is when we have kids, we know we'll be doing something right. This women is an angel. She's loving, caring, selfless, beautiful inside and out and we are incredibly lucky that we get to call her ours. She inspires us every day to look after our family, be good people and do things because they are the right thing to do. Mum gives without wanting anything in return and offers without being asked. We are who we are today because of her and we are eternally grateful for it. There is no one on the planet like her!

Chiara Ferragni.

This lady is simply a force to be reckoned with. Her blog, 'The Blonde Salad' is nothing short of an inspirational guide/story for bloggers and her work ethic is downright motivating. We adore her sweet, kind nature and her fashion sense is always on point and stunning. Yes, we wish we had her wardrobe and an ounce of her style. Listening to her speak both English and Italian is something that makes us smile and makes us believe we can do it too. Chiara and Fedez are literally GOALS and we adore them both.

You!!!

Through the wonderful world of social media we have connected with countless inspirational women. We would honestly be here for quite some time if we wrote about you all. From our incredible Author friends, like Rebecca Raisin, Holly Martin and Lindsey Kelk, (just to name a few,) to the inspiring ladies of Dolce Vita Bloggers, Kelly, Kristie and Jasmin, who motivate us each day with our Italian and our blog, and who have given us a place to call home in the blogging world, to all the amazing bloggers out there, those who take part in Dolce Vita Bloggers and those awesome bloggers/vloggers/ Instagrammers we knew before, like Hello Steph, Two Brits, Aishetina and so many more, you women kick butt and we think you are all amazing.

Have an amazing day and keep working hard on your dreams and goals and inspiring all those around you!

Love

We've always been passionate about Italy and our heritage, but to have a place to share it, with like minded people, is amazing for us, especially after losing our Grandad. 10. I know how hard it was for my mother not to be able to go home as often to Scotland to see her mother when she was ill and to be honest, I am dealing with some of the same struggles not being able to afford to go home as often as I'd like. So the story of your nana really moved me.

    1. It's very difficult and we know exactly how you feel too. Travelling isn't cheap nowadays, which makes it harder to just up and go when you want/need to! We hope you get to visit home soon! <3 xx
