America in numbers.

When we look back on all the adventures and experiences we had while in America, we do feel very fortunate. We left home at twenty one, made a new group of friends who turned into family and very much grew up and out of our comfort zone when we landed in the US of A. Today we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane in numbers...
2 - States we lived in. Those being Kentucky and Florida. We first moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to train at Ohio Valley Wrestling, then later on we moved to Clearwater, Florida, for a bit of a change and because our husband's both like the beach.

9 - Apartments we stayed in throughout the seven years we lived there. Our favourite one was in Louisville, as it had a built in bookshelf and a fireplace and was super cozy. Plus we worked in the daycare that was part of the complex, so we only had a short walk to work every day and the people we worked with were awesome.

One of our many wrestling PPV get togethers, in our last apartment.
9 - The number of jobs we had ranging from working in various retail stores, including clothes shops, an awesome scrap-booking shop and a Halloween store, to working in a daycare, as brand ambassadors and of course, we were wrestlers too.

5,012 - Okay so we're not certain about the exact amount, but we sure did make A LOT of cupcakes in our first few years in Kentucky. We had a locker room of hungry wrestlers and wrestling shows more than twice a week, so we did a ton of baking. We loved baking and experimenting with different flavours. We made Gingerbread, Pumpkin Spice, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Snickers filled with Snickers ice cream, Red Velvet filled with Red Velvet ice cream even Maple and Bacon. We actually miss baking cupcakes as much as we used to.

Some of our earlier cupcake creations, from one of our many 'Cupcake parties.'
5 - States we wrestled in: Kentucky, Florida,West Virginia. Indiana and Ohio. We realized quite quick just how big America is. We traveled so much for wrestling and got used to long car journeys. If we did those journey's in England, we'd be in another country, yet we could drive for hours and still be in Kentucky!

Still one of our favourite matches!
8 -  Concerts - One of mine and Chris' favourite things to do together is go and listen to music and attend concerts. During our four years married, we have seen John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Ed Sheeran, Grateful Dead with John Mayer and Augustana, just to name a few. - Lucy

8 - Weddings including our own! It's safe to say that most of of the people we met in America became more like family. We may not always see them but we know they are always there. Through our wrestling careers, we created bonds to last a lifetime. We also met so many lovely people through our various jobs, who hold special places in our hearts!

Last year at my (Lucy's) Chris's best friends wedding.
1 -  Theater production, read all about The Orlando Fringe Festival!

1 - YouTube channel created! While we don't upload videos as often as we used to, we had so much fun being goofy and sharing our passions in random videos and vlog form! :)

When we decided that we would film a Blossom's Olympics video for YouTube.

2 - Family surprises that we will never forget! The first being when we surprised them, by coming home, to the UK without them knowing. And the second being when our brother and sister got us so good and surprised us in Florida! Thinking about both occasions still gives us goosebumps and makes us teary!! <3

Have you ever been to America or lived in another country for a long time? We'd love to hear your stories!

Have a great day!
Love

  1. I've never been to America, although I would LOVE to visit one day. The longest I've ever lived in another country was when I went on my Erasmus exchange to Napoli for about 6 months. I always dream of moving to Italy, or maybe England, but when it comes down to it I don't know if I'd want to be that far away from everyone I know over here. I really admire you for having the courage to take that leap!

    1. Aww thank you so much Freya, that means a lot. It had it's amazing moments but we definitely struggled very much with being so far away from home! That's awesome that you lived in Napoli for 6 months, what was that like? We hope you get to visit America one day, it's a very cool place. :) xx

    2. It was a bit scary at first, because it was the first time I'd been that far away from home for so long, but luckily my friend stayed in the same apartment and we quickly made some amazing new friends from all over the world. It was probably one of the best experiences of my life! I just regret not using my Italian more - I was too scared to and usually let my friend do all the talking, or spoke English. Definitely something I need to work on if I ever go back to Italy for such an extended period of time, haha (or eventually move there, who knows).

    3. We love that you are thinking of moving there. We bet that would be amazing. It's something we often wonder if we could do but we'd have to give a few months a try at first. We've always had a family member there that can translate for us, which means we do the same and let them do all the talking. Next time we go, we don't want to take anyone with us, so that we are forced to use what Italian is stored in our heads! We know it's there!! :)

  2. This is so lovely! I love hearing about your adventures so much. You're both so brave for living in another country, I don't know if I could ever do it.

    1. Aww thank you Steph. It was a big step, one we didn't really think about till we got older and really started missing our family. But it was fun and we are grateful to have experienced it. :) xx
