Home Sweet Home: Life Update!

Hey Guys,

We hope you are all doing well. It's been another hot minute since our last post and we felt like we needed to sit down and write a life update. You may have noticed a change to our routine lately. This is because quite a lot has changed for us in recent months. Here's what's been happening...

We suffered a terrible loss. This threw us off completely. Our planned posts went out the window and we really had no desire or enthusiasm to do anything other than be with our family. Our priorities have changed and we haven't had much time to sit and think of three new posts each week, nor have we had the passion. As you may be able to tell by our blog header, we wanted to make food, our family life and our passion for Italy a bigger part of our blog's focus. We had been sharing more and more Italian recipes on our blog over Summer and had many more planned. Losing Grandad has made this incredibly hard for us and therefore, that has all taken a little backseat for now. However, slowly but surely we're finding pieces of our drive returning and plan on continuing Grandad's amazing legacy, by sharing his recipes. Until we're fully there, we love sharing book reviews, of which we are never short (thank you to all the wonderful authors, who continue sending us books) and will have one new post a week.

We moved home!!!! Yes that's right! We are back in England for the foreseeable future and could not be happier about it. We have been in the U.S for the last eight years but a week and a half ago we finally moved home. (After plenty of fun paperwork) Even though we enjoyed our adventures and time in America, the move has been a long time coming. We've been missing family like crazy and are so happy to have them round the corner. Again, this has been a rather emotional time, coming to terms with missing one of the people who couldn't wait for us to get home, but we feel like we're where we're meant to be and he's watching down on us and he's happy.

We moved out!! This may sound strange considering we have been living 4000 miles away from home for the last eight years, but moving out of our Mum and Dad's house was a big deal and a little sad. We always stayed there when we came home. It's the first time we've had to move our things out of our bedrooms and it felt very weird - who said everyone had to adult?? We both live just down the road from them though, so we still get to see Nanna and everyone on our way home from work. So, while a bit emotional, it has been exciting decorating and organizing our kitchens and living rooms. It's a fun time and we're looking forward to sharing homely posts with you in the coming months.

We got new jobs. We are both working at the same nursery not far from where we live and we are so incredibly grateful. We love working together and are enjoying being back with children; it's such a rewarding job. Plus, we work with some amazing ladies and already feel apart of their team, after only a week. Furthermore, we have a few projects that we are working on right now that are taking up a lot of our time and are our top priority. We want to make sure we give them our full attention, so that's another reason for the current change up.

That pretty much covers the big picture as to where we are and what we've been up to. We have ideas for future posts about our time in America and what it's like to be home, but just out of interest, if any of you have any questions or queries about life in America, maybe you want to live there in future or want to know more about work, apartments, different States, visas? Let us know and we'd be happy to do a post or answer any questions. :)

What have you all been up to?

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
Love
