Gone Fishing!

Ok, so we're not exactly going fish but we are going on holiday! Yes, this Sunday we are heading down to Orlando, to hop on a Carnival Cruise ship for one whole week!

Okay, so I'm going to be a little unconventional here with my book review because I'd very much like to start with this...

Q & A with Author Jennifer Joyce.

We last chatted to Jennifer Joyce over a year ago! Where has the time gone? Since then, I am almost done reading all of her books and am also currently working my way through her short stories, over on her blog. If you can't tell already, I am a huge fan! Jennifer's stories always put a smile on my face, I relate to her characters, love her settings and just genuinely love her writing. You can read more about that tomorrow though, when I join the blog tour for her wonderful new book. Speaking of which...

Lemon and Marsala Cheesecake!

baking-cooking-food bloggers-italian

We have been on a roll with baking lately, you just can't get us out of the kitchen. We think Nanna and Grandad are pretty proud of us, as every few days we tell them about something we have whipped up, be it a family recipe we are working on perfecting or a new Italian recipe we just have to try.

Must see/Must eat: London!*

It wasn't until our husbands had their first visits to our home sweet home of England, that we really paid attention to tourist spots and monuments. It's funny because here in the States, when we tell people we are from Manchester, we get one of two responses. First 'Ahhh, Manchester United,' and second 'do you know the Queen?' We would feel somewhat ashamed to admit that "no we personally do not know the Queen" and secondly, that it wasn't until Kelly's Chris came to England that we actually visited Buckingham Palace.

Book Review: Cinderella and the Duke by Janice Preston.

Release Date: 29th June 2017
Publisher: Mills and Boon

I am back with another review for yet another delightful book from Janice Preston. 'Cinderella and the Duke' is her NEW book that will be out very soon. It's part of a six book series and I cannot wait for the next one. More on than later.

Reminiscing 'bout the time.

We are huge reminicsers, so much so, that we just made up a word for it right there! :p It's not that we live in the past, we just love thinking about the places we've been, the things we have accomplished thus far and the awesome childhood we are so lucky to have had.

Book Review: The Accidental Honeymoon by Portia MacIntosh.

Release Date: 16th June 2017
Publisher: HQ Digital
Twitter: @portiamacintosh @hqdigitaluk

After reading this book, I have come to the conclusion that Portia MacIntosh is my book soul mate. Her words, her stories, her characters, they speak to me on so many levels that I can't think of a better way to describe it. In fact, I now firmly believe that we all have a book soul mate, maybe even more than one.

Let's get motivated. Gym talk!

I have to admit that I've needed a little more motivation as of late to get my butt in the gym. I've not had a specific goal in mind and have been extra focused on my writing and practicing Nanna and Grandad's recipes, so it's not been my number one priority. However, last years training with Chris Knott, has definitely proved invaluable. It's meant that I don't get too down on myself and completely stop my progress. I get my brain in gear, get there when I can and push myself during my sessions.

Daddy/Daughter Travel Plans.

We've said it before and will continue to say it again and again, we are incredibly thankful to have the Dad that we have. He's an amazing person; generous, kind, caring, adventurous and hard working, but above all that, he's a fantastic Dad. We have been fortunate enough to go on many adventures with Dad over the years, like Route 66, The Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We've also been to many a car show with him close to home. But with all those trips now behind us, today and in honour of Father's Day this weekend, we thought we'd look to the future, to the trips that are calling our names!

Savory meets sweet in this Crosta & Mollica dessert.

Savory meets sweet in this Crosta & Mollica dessert.

While it was very tempting to devour all of our Crosta and Mollica goodies during our Italian Picnic on the beach, we decided to save a few items, so we could create an alternate recipe to share with you in another blog post. We chose to keep these Classic Piada's, because our minds were racing with what deliciousness we could create with them.

At the risk of copying my other posts where I have talked about Lindsey Kelk, I have to start by saying, I bloody love this woman. I know, I know, I've written that before but I can't help it, I truly do. Happiness Diary: May.

I did my last Happiness Diary back in March and really enjoyed it. I loved reading Lucy's April diary and couldn't wait to share mine with you again. I've been keeping track all May of the moments each day that have put a big smile on my face, so let's jump right in.

Book Review: Mary and the Marquis by Janice Preston.

Publisher: Mills and Book Historical
Twitter: @janiceprestonwriter

This is the second Janice Preston book I have read in the last two weeks. I find myself falling further and further under her spell with each book I read and I couldn't be happier. Her characters feel like home, so much so, that it only takes mere seconds for me to get lost in their worlds.

Crosta and Mollica beach picnic and GIVEAWAY!

Thanks to Crosta and Mollica we finally ticked something off our 'Bucket Lists' that being: 'Have a picnic on the beach.' And boy did we do it in style. We first teamed up with this incredible company last year and since then their products have been a staple in our household. Grandad is never without their breadsticks and our favourite movie snack to munch on with Mum are their Tarallini. So, we are beyond thrilled to be teaming up with them again, to give YOU the chance to WIN these delicious products for your own summer picnic.

Magic Kingdom and Staying Safe in the Sun.

Last weekend, Chris and I concluded his amazing birthday gift to me, a ticket to each Disney Park, with a trip to Magic Kingdom. If I really had to pick, I'd say Magic Kingdom is my favourite Disney park, so we saved it till last. With it being Memorial Day weekend, the park was bustling with people and it was also extremely hot, but we still had a wonderful time. Today I wanted to share a few pictures with you, because, well, it's Disney and I can't not take pictures. But also, I wanted to give you a few pieces of advice on how I have been learning to stay safe in this lovely Florida sunshine.

Book Review: The Convenient Felstone Marriage by Jenni Fletcher.

Release Date: 1st June 2017.
Publisher: Mills and Boon.
Twitter: @jenniauthor

After reading 'The Convenient Felstone Marriage,' I now have a new way of measuring how much I loved a book and that is, how quickly I jump off my couch to switch on my computer and write my review. In the case of this story it was, oh about 0.2 seconds!!! Now I'm sat here I have all these thoughts scrambling for attention in my head and I don't know how to get them down quick enough. I will just start by saying this, I felt like I was wrapped in a warm hug from the start to the end of this book. I absolutely adored it!
