May The Fourth Be With You - How to Celebrate.

I, like many of you, watched Star Wars as a kid. However, I never really got super into it, it was just a classic movie that a lot of people talked about and I ended up watching when it was on TV, most likely with my Dad. Fast forward quite a few years and I absolutely love it, thanks to my husband, Chris. I have sat with him for all the movies, in order, from start to finish and for the last two Christmas's we have seen the new movies, if not the day of, a few days after they came out. I think I get just as excited as he does for the new movies now. I love our new Christmas tradition and am already looking forward to this year!
I don't know quite what it is about them that I love, they just give me that cozy, comforting feeling, like I can relax when they are playing. I am a big fan of the first movies, but have to say that I adore the two new ones. I just love watching Daisy Ridley and Felicity Jones - Girl Crushes anyone??

So with my new love of this iconic film saga, today I thought I would share three ways that you can enjoy May 4th! :)

Movie Day/Night.

A few months back, myself and Chris had a lazy Sunday. We had nowhere to rush to and nothing that needed to be done right away, so we put on The Force Awakens and had coffee and breakfast while lazing around on the couch. It was perfect. So whether it be making a delicious dinner and watching your favourite episode or spending the whole day with yummy snacks and all the movies in order. This could be a perfect and relaxing way to celebrate.

Get involved in an event or celebration in your local area.

With Star Wars having the fan base that it does, there are a lot of places that will do special events or activities this time of year. Last year we had a great time at our local baseball field for their Star Wars night. They had characters walking around, the team mascot was dressed up and the fireworks were set to the Star Wars music. It was pretty cool. Disney obviously do their huge Star Wars celebration, so if you are lucky enough to live near there or have a holiday planned during May, you will be able to get your Star Wars fill at Hollywood Studios. It's all very exciting. Also check your local library for fun events, be it a Star Wars reading or costume day, I have noticed a few of them pop up over the years at different libraries I have been a member of.

Get your bake on.

Oh my goodness, you only have to google Star Wars baking, to find the coolest little baking tools, from these cute cookie cutters, to cupcake stencils, you could definitely have your own little Star Wars party. You could spend the day baking Star Wars treats and then curl up and enjoy the movies or invite your friends round and have them all dress as their favourite characters, then serve them up some awesome themed treats. It would be so much fun. I may actually have to get some of these myself. My kitchen is full of Star Wars glasses and mugs, but alas no baking supplies...yet!!! :)

Hope you enjoyed these little ideas to celebrate May 4th. Do you have any plans for this day? Are you a Star Wars fan?

Have a great day and May The Fourth Be With You.

  4. I love all of these ideas, Kelly! Since I am stuck at work for most of the day, I am listening to Spotify's playlist of all of the Star Wars music (which I love because the little counter at the bottom that tells you how far into a song you are is a light saber that glows!), and I wore my Darth Vader sweater. I'm sure we'll be popping in one of the movies tonight, although I have admittedly been watching The Force Awakens pretty much every night when I go to bed for the past couple weeks!

May the Fourth be with you!

    1. Thank you Katie! :) Haha that sounds awesome, as well as a great way to help make work a little better! I wore my Star Wars top to work today too! :) I think that might just be my favourite movie, I want to watch it tonight! I don't know what it is but it's comforting to watch, maybe because we were back home at Christmas when it first came out! I love it! :) Have a fun evening and May the fourth be with you! :) xx
