Blogger Chat: Meg from She puts Her Makeup On!

We love being a part of the blogging community. We love that those we have come across are always supportive, uplifting and happy to offer advice and words of wisdom if we need help, in addition to creating wonderful blogs that we adore reading. We thought it would be fun to sit down with some of our favourite bloggers in a little 'Mini Series' called 'Bloggers chat,' as a way of sharing the love and encouraging an extra dose of positivity on the internet. If you don't already know these bloggers, or their blogs, make sure you check them out!

Today's awesome blogger is Meg from 'She Puts Her Makeup On', though we have actually known Meg way before we started blogging. We became firm friends in our Good Charlotte days, 10 plus years ago, and have never lost contact. We love Meg's creativity, honesty and that she is just an all round kick ass and incredibly cool person.

1) What made you decide to create your blog?
I actually had started my blog a long time ago, and then didn't do much with it. It wasn't until I started doing YouTube videos that I started posting at least once a week, and as I got more obsessed with makeup and the beauty community, it became even more frequent.

2) As well as your blog, you have a YouTube channel and an etsy store. Not only that but you also have a gorgeous little boy. Where do you find the time to do all this and which time of day do you get most of your blogging/youtubing done?
When it comes to filming videos, it's hard to find a lot of time to do it without noise and distractions in the background lol! I usually will film 3 or 4 in one day now, when my husband is home so that he can entertain our little guy. Editing gets done here and there whenever I have some free time. The Etsy shop is a little easier because while I still have distractions throughout the day, it's something I can take a break from and go back to later on. As for blogging, I honestly do most of my blog posts at night after Aiden's bedtime!

3) We love to write in our little offices! Do you have a particular place where you blog or do you move around?
I have tried to write posts on my laptop so I can go into any room, but it never feels right. I have to be at my desktop with a snack, relaxing, so that I can just write away.

4) We enjoy reading your makeup reviews because you always tell it like it is. What got you into Makeup?
I would say I started really liking makeup when I was around 16 or 17. I remember my first "fancy" makeup - Too Faced was just starting out and my mom and I were shopping at Weathervane, which doesn't even exist anymore but it was sort of like Macy's just a department store that had a beauty counter. I got 2 of their eyeshadows and I still have them even though I don't use them anymore! Up until that point I had never tried really pigmented eyeshadows, so I quickly fell in love.

5) Do you have to have a snack or drink while blogging and if so what do you have?
I do usually have a snack while I'm blogging, it's almost always tea (hot in the winter but iced when it's hotter outside!) and a granola bar or some cookies.

6) We became friends around 14 years ago thanks to your Good Charlotte fansite, "Get Down With GC." Can you tell us about your best Good Charlotte concert experience?
Ah, Get Down With GC! I actually really miss running that site but it just got to be too much. I have had so many good experiences seeing them, it's probably a tie. I think it was 2010 when I first saw them at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, which is probably the tiniest club I've ever been in, and we waited outside all day just so we could be right up front. We were ridiculously close so I literally had to look up the entire time, and Joel made fun of us because we freaked out that they played The Motivation Proclamation (myself and everyone I knew who was going to that show had been tweeting them for weeks to ask them to play it haha). The other one would be this past April when I got to meet all of them and got a hug from them and a picture - it was very quick but made me so happy! They really are the nicest guys. Plus I've made so many friends because of them <3

7) Speaking of Good Charlotte, their new album is out soon. What is your favourite song of theirs to date?
That is so hard to answer because I don't think there's a song from them that I DON'T like! I would have to say my all time number one is The Motivation Proclamation. It's one of those songs I'll just never get tired of.

8) A big part of blogging is being active on social media. Which app do you use the most?
Definitely Instagram! I don't know what it is but I got addicted to that as soon as I installed it on my phone, and it's still a thing I check multiple times a day!

9) If you had to pick one thing about your blog that you love the most. What would it be?
I love that I can post about anything. It is mainly beauty, but I like to post about concerts, life in general, whatever I'm feeling at the moment!

10) Finally, what would you say is the best thing about being a blogger?
The best thing about being a blogger for me is getting to interact with so many people. I've had people thank me for helping them out with a product they were thinking of buying, or say that I helped them steer clear of something that was super hyped up and turned out to not be so good and helped save them money, and that always makes me happy!

Thanks so much for including me, guys!
<3 Meg

Be sure to stop by and say hi to Meg on her blog and YouTube channel! :)

Have an awesome day!
Love Lucy and Kelly xx
