How many cups of tea do you have per day / how many sugars?
Lucy: I would say that I have at least one a day. I did go through a phase, after being in America so long, where I drank way more coffee and didn't have a lot of tea, but when I would visit home I got right back into it. And since Mum sent us a bunch of Tetley Tea bags, I now love my tea fix, it's very much a home comfort. :) I take one sugar!
Kelly: I only really have one a day in America, usually after work and after I've done all my cleaning/cooking. I have one sugar.
Favourite part of a roast?
Lucy: Ooh definitely roast potato's with gravy and Yorkshire puddings. When my Nanna Knott used to make us roast dinners she used to make mashed carrots and they were the absolute best and tastiest thing ever. For a while that was the only way we would like our carrots. :)
Kelly: I have to agree with Luc, I love roast potato's with gravy especially when the roasts are perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside!! Mmmm!!
Favourite dunking biscuit?
Lucy: That's a tough one. Either Digestives or Rich Tea, ooh or even Maryland cookies. I was going to say Biscotti then but they're Italian! :p We always have them when we go back home though, so it can kind of count! :p
Kelly: I would have to say Digestives or Hob Nobs, I could have either or! In fact, the other day my husband and I just finished the packet of chocolate digestives my mum sent over and I dunked them in my cup of tea!
Favourite quintessentially British pass time?
Lucy: For some reason I immediately think of British summers outside in the back garden barbequing. I don't know if it's because we don't always get the really hot sunny days in England, so we tend to really make the most of it when they happen, but I just love those days in England so much. The garden always looks so bright and pretty, because of Mum, and I love when we have the hammock out and all sit round the table. I know everyone BBQ's but I feel like British bbq's are different, but I couldn't exactly tell you how! :p Ooh maybe that ours just feel smaller and more quaint, just the family and plenty of cake for dessert. :)
Kelly: I think I am going to go with the stereotypical British thing of Tea and Biscuits or Tea and cake. I know Americans will chat and have their coffee, but adding the biscuits or a "sweet item" is definitely something we do more, whether it's after a long day, after dinner or just when you have company. I know me and Luc do it a lot, especially on weekends.
What is your favourite word?
Lucy: I think I go through phases of what words I use the most without knowing, my husband often picks up on it and laughs. For example, I can use the word 'literally' in every sentence without knowing at times, or the words 'funnily enough'. As far as my favourite word, I'm not really sure. I like to say 'Cute' and do say it a lot!
Kelly: Ooh that's tricky, all of Miranda Harts come to mind.."Moist" Anyone? I use the word "Nice" a lot and "Sweet".
Galloping out of the Manchester Arena after seeing Miranda Hart! :)
What is your favourite sweet?
Lucy: I think I'd have to go with fizzy cola bottles. I'm more of a chocolate person than sweets but every now and again I will fancy these. Ooh and I have to say those thick strawberry liquorish with the sherbet in the middle. Mum always used to get them us for a treat. The black liquorish was the most popular so these were rare to find, but they were the best ones. :)
Kelly: Haribo cola bottles always remind me of childhood. But I am going to say another childhood favourite, Pear Drops! Mum always used to bring them with her on certain days after school and they were our favourites for the longest time. To this day it makes me smile just the memory of them. Does anyone know if you can still get them?
These were the best! :)
What would your pub be called?
Lucy: There are probably a bunch of pubs with this name but I love it and our Mum and Dad have a sign somewhere that says this, so I think it's perfect... "Knotts Inn"
Kelly: Hmm I literally just thought of Sugar Blossom! Ha!!
Who is your number one British person?
Lucy: Ooh that's a tough one. Do they have to be famous? My Dad's British so I will say him. 110% him!! My Mum is Italian and technically my brothers and sisters are half Italian so they don't count. :p I do love John Bishop and the cast of Harry Potter and a bunch of wonderful authors too, but number one is definitely my Dad! He is awesome! :)
Kelly: This is a tricky one as I know I will say someone but then think of someone else later that I really wanted to write, so I am going to give you a few... Rupert Grint, for some reason hearing his voice is comforting to me and I just love him. Miranda Hart, she is amazing, hilarious and such an inspiring person, love her, love her comedy! I also love J K Rowling for creating Harry Potter and James Corden and John Bishop for being hilarious.
Favourite shop or restaurant?
Lucy: Kelly actually wrote her answer first and I would have to agree with Tesco and our chippy! :) Ooh and there is a little deli called Barbakan that sells Italian foods that we LOVE!
Kelly: I'd have to go with our local chippy for food, we go there so much, they actually know us. It's called Golden Gate and has the best Fish and Chips around and also delicious Chinese food, it's one of the things I am so excited about when we go home in a few months, I crave it!! Favourite shop would be Tesco, I love going food shopping with Mum especially when we go to "Big Tesco" and have a look at all the books! :)
What British song pops into your head?
Lucy: A blend of The Overtones latest album 'Sweet Soul Music' as we just got it the other day! :)
Kelly: Any songs by my favourite British band of course, The Overtones!! Ooh also Ed Sheeran or Ollie Murs will pop into my head from time to time. Not forgetting all the old classics we voxer our little sister back and forth with...S Club 7, Spice Girls etc.
Lucy: Nope, can't do it! :p
Kelly: No thank you, not for me!!
Hope you enjoyed our fun British tag. Just thinking of our answers makes us even more giddy to go home. We are squealing with glee... :)
Have a lovely evening!
Lucy and Kelly xx
