Our Pink Castle! :)

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. My apartment currently looks like a craft workshop as my husband and I have taken up tons of new hobbies and projects in the two days since we have been back from Florida...but more on those in another post in the coming days. :) Today I just wanted to catch up and share a few pictures with you from our recent St Pete trip to celebrate our 1 Year wedding anniversary/going on our belated honeymoon. In addition to that I wanted to set up a new page on my blog that I will hopefully get up in the next few hours, so bare with..., I couldn't resist, gosh I love Miranda! :p (British comedian, check out 'Is it just me?' post) while I get back to somewhat of my usual blogging routine. :)

It felt rather surreal to be back at our Pink Castle, I couldn't quite believe a year had gone by since we were there getting married. Chris and I absolutely adore it, it's simply stunning and beautiful and luxurious while at the same time so cozy and homely. The smell and everything about it just bought back so many happy memories of our wedding day and having all our family in one place together at the same time! It made my heart very happy! :)

Cocktails on the beach! The Don Cesar makes the yummiest drinks, this was my first of many Mango Tangos! Mmmmm delicious! :)
Curled up in our big fluffy bed eating gummy bears and watching 'Lets be cops'. Awesome movie, we both love Jake Johnson.
The Loews Don Cesar is home to Spa Oceana, where I got to spend a lovely morning being pampered, thanks to Chris surprising me and booking me in for a massage and manicure and pedicure. I went for a fall, purpley, brown colour for my nails that I just love. I have to say that I am on Miranda Harts side concerning massages, I simple can not relax and just feel a tad awkward. Plus i'm a chatterbox at the best of times and as you know will ramble away if I'm nervous or trying to break the silence, so when the man began the massage I wasn't sure whether to say 'that feels nice, ooh that peppermint cream smells nice, thank you, etc' or if it was ok and time to be silent and relax. Is it just me? :p
My sister and brother in law joined us on the Tuesday, it wouldn't be a Florida trip without seeing them, so we had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool and on the beach, chatting away, eating pizza and wings and just spending time together. I miss them so much now that we live in different places so it just made the trip even more awesome getting to see them! :)
Breakfast at Uncle Andy's! The Don, is home to the scrumptiousness that is Uncle Andy's ice cream parlour, which we tucked into when Chris and Kelly arrived. But on this morning we went with a muffin top (Top of the muffin to you...Seinfeld anyone? :) ) and some Starbucks coffee! :)
Sharing a pool chair...as you do! :p I love her, stay tuned to the new addition to the blog coming soon (hopefully today) we like to come up with ideas when we are together and talk about anything and everything! :)
Pool side chilling! :) We had a lovely honeymoon/1 year anniversary and I have to say that the Loews Don Cesar is just a fantastic place. I love that it is so grand yet I never feel out of place or like I'm not dressed up enough. The staff and people there are all so friendly and helpful and you really just feel like you have stepped into your own little world. I most definitely recommend visiting and also checking our the St Pete/Passe Grille area, it's one of our favourite spots! :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Let me know if you have ever visited the Pink Castle or what your favourite vacation spots are in the comments below! :)

Yoga, friends, makeup and getting Don Cesar'd! :p

I hope everyone is having a great week so far, I thought today I would just do a little update blog, as  I had a few fun things to share as far as makeup, crafts and life goes and I thought it would all fit together nicely! :)

So let's jump right in!

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you will know that a couple of months back my husband and I bought DDP Yoga to try out, see post here: http://lululocket.blogspot.com/2014/02/lets-start-with-bang.html I explained how I am really bad with consistency and needless to say a few months later I wrote in an update blog that I had started to slack a bit, http://lululocket.blogspot.com/2014/04/updatesback-with-bang.html due to a home visit. However, by Summer I was back on track and feeling proud of myself, http://lululocket.blogspot.com/2014/06/sun-and-smiles.html but I don't think I have done an update since then. Dun dun duuuun...yep I admit I am just awful, no excuses, consistency has been whooping my butt again and I have found myself not sticking to my plan. Thank goodness for my husband, as he honestly keeps me motivated and helps me to do a session here and there. I had been struggling with my back last week so decided to push myself and join him in a 38 minute session and, honestly, afterwards I felt so much better. I do love that it's easy to jump back into and that DDP makes it tons of fun to get through a 38 minute workout and not hate every minute, I still highly recommend it as it's one of my favourite ways to get in a workout. I am going to try my best to get some more sessions in, in a week, I know it's super beneficial and I have to keep thinking about how great I feel after! :) If you have tips on how to stay focused when it comes to keeping fit, please do let me know! :) On a side note though, I do have to mention that I really do love working out, it's not like I hate it and have to force myself to do it, it's more that I get distracted by a million other projects and things that it always just gets pushed to the bottom! Simple solution I know, is to not let it drop to the bottom of the 'To Do list' but what can I say??...I love curling up to read or scrapbook that little bit more! ;)

During the winter months I love creams and lotions to keep my skin nice and hydrated, I usually stick to the Dove creams that don't smell too strongly, just simple and fresh, but when Jaclyn Hill mentioned this one in a recent haul, I thought ooh that sounds delicious and like something I would love! I picked it up two weeks a go at Sephora and have been using it everyday since. I wouldn't usually spend $17 on a body cream but this one is awesome, I love the smell, it's sweet but not too overpowering that it becomes sickly and it makes my skin feel lovely and soft and hydrated! :) Thank you Jaclyn! :)
I mentioned one or two posts back that I started a part time job and Michaels, the craft store, and I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying it! :) Everyday I come home with new ideas and projects that I want to try. I love asking the customers what they are working on or making and some of them are so incredibly creative that I simply want to try my hand at everything. One of the first things I made this month, after seeing some pretty Pumpkin decorations at work, was my own pumpkin that you can see here: http://lululocket.blogspot.com/2014/10/how-to-bedazzle-pumpkin.html as well as a bunch of Fall décor. Well the other day I was looking through Pinterest and saw some really cute felt decorations and lots of people had been buying felt at Michaels, so I thought I must get some and see what I can concoct. Above are just a few of things I managed to make over the past two days! :) I love how this month has been a really creative month in my household, from designing ring jackets with my husband, to bedazzling pumpkins and making heart garlands out of felt, I just love being inspired and getting crafty! :) Check out www.michaels.com for coupons, classes and more! :)
After using up all my Urban Decay Naked foundation, I ended up picking up the Loreal True match foundation, after hearing many great things about it, however, after using it for a few months I can't say that I liked it, for me personally it felt really heavy and cakey. I started to mix it a little bit with my Maybelline BB cream just so I didn't have to use so much on my face and mixing it with that meant I could get a decent coverage without it being too thick, but still it just felt a tad icky. My friend Kacie had mentioned that Sephora do samples of foundations so you can test them out first before buying them, I hadn't known this before and was so happy when she told me as I always hate to buy one and then find out it doesn't work for me. When my sister Kelly was in town, we went along to Sephora and had a lovely lady help us pick the right ones for us to sample. (above) I am loving the Nars sheer glow and Makeup Forever ones, if you are like me and have fair to medium skin, with yellow undertones and you get oily on and around your nose, then I highly recommend these two foundations. I have been experimenting with them for work and just during the days and they keep me surprisingly matte for most of the day. I love the feel of them both, they are extremely lightweight and smooth on the face and give a gorgeous coverage. I have been using the Makeup forever one a little bit more over the past week as I think my tan is starting to fade and the Nars one is slightly darker. I wasn't too fond of the Tarte Amazonian clay for me.
Speaking of my friend Kacie and makeup, yesterday we met up for a little girlie time at the mall. You know when you are just in the need for a good catch up with a wonderful friend and when you say bye at the end you feel happy and in elevated spirits? Well that was yesterday, I met Kacie through OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) when her sister Kaila was wrestling there and she is just awesome, both of them are awesome and they have the most amazing, lovely family. They always make me smile as they remind me of my family in how close they all are (Kacie and Kaila are two of five girls :) ) and how important family is to them! :) Anyhow, Kacie and I spent a few hours swatching tons of makeup at Sephora and wandering around pretty shops and drinking Starbucks while chatting away about life, jobs and Jaclyn Hill! :p Upon parting ways Kacie gave me a little gift bag to which I opened when I got home, I kid you not words failed me...I know that's hard to believe but they truly did! :p I have had the Lorac pro palette on my wish list for a while now and I had been rambling about makeup brushes and Jaclyn Hill lipstick during our outing, so when I opened the bag to find a dupe of 1995, blending brushes and the Lorac Palette I was overwhelmed. Kacie had recently bought the new Lorac palette and had wanted to give this one a good home, the fact that she would pass it on it to me really meant the world to me. And I just have to add that it's not about the gifts and things themselves, however awesome they are and however excited I am to use them, ;) it's the fact that, that was such a sweet and thoughtful thing to do. Also, I'm a very sentimental person, so the fact that I have a makeup palette that belonged to someone else and was passed down to me actually makes me happy and makes the palette more than makeup and extra special. Thank you Kacie for making me smile and for thinking of me! I now promise to get better at my eye makeup and make good use of it! :)
In my last post I talked about how last weekend, my husband, Chris, and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary, (I still have plenty of cake left) well, this weekend we are heading back to St Petersburg for a little weekend getaway at the Don Cesar. I get butterflies just thinking about staying there again and still can't believe that it was a year ago since we got married there. I won't be blogging for a few days but I wish everyone a fantastic weekend, be happy, be blessed and be creative! :)

1 Year Wedding Anniversary! :)

If you're not into mush and gush and a whole lot of soppiness then look away now...abort post, abort post!!! :p

Today is 1 year since my husband, Chris, and I got married. I know it sounds somewhat cheesy and cliché to say I can't believe it's been a year already, but honestly, I really can't. I know we say it every year when it comes to Christmas, like where has the year gone and it flew by, but this somehow feels different, I truly can't quite believe this time last year we were stood on St Petersburg beach saying 'I do'. :) We have experienced so much in the past year, learnt a lot about each other and been there for each other in every way. We've accomplished goals together and supported each other and comforted each other each day, we've laughed, we've cried, we've been on countless road trips and adventures, we've settled into cozy routines and worked together to face new situations and every single second of it has felt magical.

When I first met Chris, 6-7 years ago, I had no idea of the journey we would go on or where it would take us, all I knew is that I had met my best friend and soul mate. During the past 7 years he has listened to me, given me advice after advice, looked out for me, guided me, encouraged me to brave the world, believe in myself and have the confidence to grow as a person. He's made me laugh and quite literally kicked my ass ( :p ) he's taught me so much in the wrestling world and tons outside of it, he's introduced me to my favourite musicians and opened my eyes to the world around me. Since we got married, he hasn't changed and still continues to be all that he was before, my best friend and other (other) half (after Kelly :p) but also, so much more. I know it's hard to believe that he could get more awesome but he just can't seem to help it! :p He is one simply amazing husband, throw in everything above and add the fact that he is unbelievably caring and kind, always considerate and sweet, takes such good care of me and has the passion to provide and put something bigger before him, that and he will watch all 5 seasons of Chuck and Tangled with me over and over again...yep, he is incredible and I am one extremely lucky girl! :)

My world is simply tons of fun and just seems completely, 110% right when he's in it! :)

On our wedding day we had the most delicious and prettiest cake from Sweet Tweets Cakery, you can find them on Tweeter here: @SweetTweetsCake We had kept the top of the cake for today, however, it is in Virginia with our family, we couldn't bring it back from Florida on the plane so my brother in law's Mom took it back home with her as she was driving, thank you Michele! :) I still wanted us to be able to have a treat on our special day, so I set about seeing if I could replicate our white cake with raspberry and buttercream filling with coral buttercream frosting! :)

This was our cake from Sweet Tweets Cakery!

And this is what I created! :)

I used this recipe that I found on Pinterest! :)
What you will need:
6 egg whites
2 tsp almond essence
4 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 cups of cake flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup milk
Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees
Make sure your eggs and milk are at room temperature.
Pour milk, egg whites and extracts into medium bowl and mix with a fork until blended.
Mix cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in bowl with electric mix. Add butter cut into cubes and beat on low.
Add all but 1/2 of the milk mixture to the flour mixture and beat. Add remaining milk mix and beat until incorporated.
Bake for 27-30 mins.
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla.
Once cakes are cooled, spread one layer with raspberry jam and the other layer with buttercream and stack them!
I made another batch of buttercream and mixed red and yellow food colouring to get the beautiful Coral colour. :)
It was tricky to make the flowers but lots of fun trying.
Thank you to Sweet Tweets Cakery for making our wedding day so wonderful and our cake so awesome! :) I didn't quite get the cake as perfect and scrumptious as yours but I was rather pleased with it, we had a slice for breakfast this morning and it turned out pretty yummy! :)
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!

The Blogger Tag! :)

I was so excited to be tagged in this post, it's coming up to a year since I started blogging and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I love to write and it makes me happy when I get to read comments and talk to people who share the same interests as me or who have blogs of their own, as of course, I love to read too! :) I was tagged by the lovely Angie, who I got to talking to from her blog Chocolate and Lipstick, you can check out her delightful blog here: http://www.chocolateandlipstick.com/ I love getting to chat to new people and connect, so thank you Angie for tagging me and for making me feel a little more part of the blogging world! :)

1: What is your favourite beauty product. Ooh that's a tough one but I would have to say Blush. I do love light foundations and BB creams that can make you look and feel more awake and give your skin a nice glow, I like to leave the house with at least a little bit of that on, on most days, but blush is something I rarely go without (unless I'm at home all day) even if I don't have any powder or foundation on I love to add a touch of blush to my cheeks to make me look a bit brighter! :) I love pinks and corals and peachy blushes! :)

2: If you could travel any where in the world, where would it be?
I would love to go back to Italy. I've been very fortunate to have been there a few times growing up, to visit my family, but it's been a few years now since I last went and I miss them all and the place so much. I adore Italy, everything about it and my husband has never been so it's number one on my list of places to go! :) (Besides going back to the UK)

3: What is your all time favourite makeup brand.
Hmm, i'm kind of new to makeup, I mean I have been experimenting with it for the past few years for wrestling, but only recently have I been paying more attention to brands and enjoying makeup outside of the squared circle! :p At the moment my collection is quite mixed, I have a few things from Mac, BH Cosmetics, Gerard Cosmetics, Loreal, Urban Decay and Nars, ooh and Maybelline and NYX. Lately I have been eyeing up the Lorac makeup isles and have the Lorac Pro 2 on my wish list! :p I adore Limecrime too, they are awesome! :)

4: Do you collect anything? If so, what?
I wouldn't say i'm a collector per say but I do have tons and tons of frames and scrapbooks. It's not that I 'collect' them, but I love to scrapbook and take photos of everything, so these things tend to add up in my apartment.

5: Early bird or night owl?
Most DEFINITELY an early bird. I start to drift off around 9pm most nights and just can't function or concentrate past that time. I get the giggles, I yawn non stop and I want to be in my pajamas. :p My husband is the opposite, so you can imagine his face when the Tangled soundtrack hits on weekends as I bounce around..."It's 7am, the usual morning line up..." :p

6 Tea or Coffee?
Ooh that's a tricky one. Nothing quite beats a proper cup of tea and a biscuit when chatting away with my Mum and Sisters at home, however, I love being at my Nanna and Grandads drinking coffee and eating biscotti. I have wonderful memories surrounding both and both have their purposes, so I would have to say both! :)

7: What is your favourite TV Show?
Do you really want to hear me go on about my favourite TV show again??? :p Oh alright then... CHUCK!!!! :) My favourite TV show in the history of ever!! Love, love, love it!

8: If you could travel to any era, what would it be?
I would have to say the 1950's, for the clothes, the cars, the attitudes, the pin ups, the 50's housewives and did I mention the cars?? :)
There you have it, I hope you had fun reading my first Blogger Tag, now I Tag the gorgeous +Sarah Hess also if you would like to answer the questions yourself and you don't have a blog, please feel free to leave your answers in the comments below! :) (It might be cheating a little but id love to read them :p )

How to bedazzle a Pumpkin!

I've been super excited to blog today as I'm just in one of those bouncy happy moods and wanted to share my little smiles with you and see if I can pass them on. This past weekend was simply wonderful, one of those weekends where everything felt calm and paced and like it was just what I needed. I worked for a few hours on Saturday, got to see some of my friends over at OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) and spent tons of time with my husband; that involved running around town picking up lots of crafting goodies, watching Seinfeld, laughing a whole bunch and awesome cuddles. You simply can't beat that; I feel very blessed. We also had a blast decorating our apartment together for Halloween, so today I have some more decorations to show you that I hope you will like.

The first of my little projects was again inspired by Casey Holmes (YouTube beauty guru.)

Fall Candle Holder.

What you will need: Glass bowl, leaves, glue, tea light.

crafts, halloween, fall,

The aim is to cover your glass bowl with the leaves to give it that Fall inspired look. I really struggled getting these leaves to stick to the glass even though the glue said that it can be used for glass, however I persevered and non of them have fallen off yet!

leaves, crafts, fall

Mine looked a tad messy when I finished attaching all the leaves and after letting it dry, so I ended up getting a bit of twine and using a pumpkin dish I had, as well as a few pieces of Fall tinsel that I twisted into circles, to help spruce it up a bit and make it look pretty.

crafts, fall, pumpkins

crafts, fall, candles, leaves,

Above is how it turned out! I think it worked OK and looks rather cute and rustic! :)

Chuck Pumpkin.

On to my second project and the one I am most excited to share! Eek!! :) I love working at Michaels and talking to the customers about the projects they are working on. The other day a lady was buying one of the fake white pumpkins, which I just love and think are incredibly cute, and she was buying this sticker made of jewels in the form of a letter 'J' to stick on the pumpkin. As soon as I saw it a light bulb went off in my mind and I knew what I wanted to do on my pumpkin this year. I liked the idea of getting one of the fake ones as sometimes the real ones get too messy and they always seem to mold and sag before Halloween is even upon us. So, yesterday, my husband and I had a little shopping spree at Michaels and I set to work! :) He hasn't decorated his little orange pumpkin yet...I will keep you posted! :p

Can you guess? :p

I drew on my guide lightly in pencil. :)

And began...I was pretty impressed at how awesome my circle came out with doing it free hand! :p These little gems are Border embellishments from Jolee's boutique, so I had to cut them out individually.

And Ta Da!!! :) I smile a big cheesy smile every time I look at it! This was set to be my finished product. I felt it was simple and elegant but still extremely cool, but then I looked at it this morning and had an idea that I thought would make it better...

YAY!!! :) It's my favourite thing ever! :)

I hope you all have fun carving or bedazzling your pumpkins and if you have pictures I would love to see! Leave a comment below or share through Twitter @LucyOsterfeld

Here's a little peak into our cozy apartment after our Halloween/Fall Décor shopping spree!

All the craft supplies were bought from Michaels, in addition to the fall garland and colourful sugar skull. The Witches Way sign and black lace came from the Dollar store and the Trick or Treat tin and pumpkin lanterns were from Target! :)

Have a wonderful week!

Is it just me?....

I finally got round to reading 'Is it just me?' by Miranda Hart the other day, it took me one and a half days to read, as I couldn't put it down. I don't know why it's taken me this long to read it as it came highly recommended by both my sisters. In fact, when Kelly read the book I observed her deep in concentration, head buried and focused, quietly giggling with tears rolling down her face before erupting with laughter every few minutes. That would then be followed by the statement "I'm not spoiling it for you, this is just one bit but it's so funny." and she would proceed to read aloud a paragraph of this delightful tale that she simply just had to share with me herself. :p 'It's not truly spoiling it, you still get to read it and enjoy it.' she would protest after about the tenth time she did this. I have to say a year later and nothing was ruined, I remembered little parts but through sheer joy and the way in which Miranda writes I could read it over and over and be entertained and surprised each time. It's just 'such fun' to read...see what I did there? ;)

If you don't know who Miranda Hart is, she is a British comedian/Comedy actress and she is wonderful. You must, must, must look her up, go on, now, hop (or should I say gallop) to it!!! Google, Hulu, YouTube, DVD's, the good old TV, search until you find her!! :) She stars in her own TV show titled 'Miranda' and this year embarked on, I think, her first arena tour. My sisters and I and my husband went to see her "My, What I call, Live show." when we went back home in March and she was simply awesome. Her comedy is right up our alley (not so much my husband but he still enjoyed it). Miranda deals with the wonders of daily life and being a 'so called' grown up, she talks about life's daily embarrassments and every day awkward situations and she will have you laughing out loud non stop.

Her book 'Is it just me?' takes you further into her world. It's written as though she is talking to her 18 old self (Little Miranda) warning her of all that she will deal with in life and where it takes her. It's a guide for the reader and Little M to help them embrace what life throws at them and the most important, I feel, embracing who you are. :) I couldn't help smiling the whole way through this book as Miranda talks about family Christmas's and Beauty routines, office jobs and boys, she has such a charming way of telling the truth and giving her opinion, yet it's very light hearted but will make you think all the same. I love her outlook and how she isn't afraid to have fun and be goofy, there's something extremely heartwarming about the fact that she doesn't do well in serious/adult/professional/social situations. She's the person that will make a joke, she's the person that isn't always put together and she's the person that doesn't always know quite what's going on. And in all this, it sure comes across like she's the one having the most fun, she's the one most comfortable with who she is and she's the one that is doing it right. :)

One of the main reasons why I adore this book is that I wasn't expecting it to necessarily be a guide for me, I was really just reading it as I love Miranda and wanted to see what the book was all about. However, I found that I picked it up at just the right time. You see, I'm a shy person, I'm an anxious person, a nervous person and somewhat of a socially awkward person. Most of the time when I'm around people I know, I'm fine, I like being bouncy and happy and you wouldn't necessarily know I struggled with things like that. It might seem strange when I talk about jobs, such as when I worked at Kohls and now Michaels, like it's a big deal that I am stepping out the house and into the real world, but it's because I overthink and worry about not being able to do things or if I'm going to be good at it. I think about tasks like answering phones and dealing with people and it honestly scares me. Therefore it feels like an accomplishment to me. So when reading how Miranda deals with life I suddenly had this overwhelming happiness as to the question that she asks throughout this 'Miranual' 'Is it just me?' We often go through life thinking that we are the only person feeling certain emotions or we are the only person who gets flustered and frazzled in a given situation, but as Miranda bravely puts forth embarrassing stories and tales of things that have happened to her and how she reacted to those things, I have to smile realizing it's not just me! It's not just me that talks 1000 mile per hour when I get nervous. It's not just me that rambles and talks in circles when I feel anxious. It's not just me that turns bright red and gets sweaty when I'm not quite sure of the answer to a question a customer asks. It's not just me that freaks out when the phone rings and muddles up a simple sentence when I answer it. It's not just me that suddenly speaks gobble de gook when my mind jumps to say too many things at once in a desire to make sure the person knows I'm trying to do my best to help. And if it really is just me, well, like Miranda would say 'Eh, Life!' I'm me and there's not much I can do about it. I'm goofy, I ramble and I'm sometimes socially inept, but I wouldn't want to be anyone else!! :)

And with that long ramble! :p I implore you to go and read 'Is it just me?' and watch Miranda Hart. I encourage you to gallop (Miranda will explain) and not take life or yourself to seriously. Be yourself and have fun. If someone looks at you funny, just smile, laugh, stare right back at them, whatever you do, never apologize or feel embarrassed to be you! :)

This book was a delight to read and has such a positive vibe to it. It's beautiful and inspiring and I had goose bumps at the end when it was time for Big Miranda to tell Little Miranda what dreams had come true and how she is still alive and sashaying. :) There's going to be bumps and falls, can't look someone in the face, did I just say that?, I can't believe I just did that moments a long the way and those moments are what make you YOU and are what make you AWESOME!!! :)

Have a great day! :)
